There's a new game on the website featuring the new tournament knights and ogres. Its quite fun though a bit repetitive, not too easy either! with gold you can purchase better equipment once its unlocked. Animations are very good I must say, though the level design could have used a little more variation.

It's just a fun webgame though, nothing more or less but I gues it gives a little taste of what the MMO could be like.

I'll have to check that out. Thanks for the information, Rhalius. I know that they've been making "application" games for tablets and such now, since there's a market for that.

Yeah the knight game is related to the bagged jousting knights just released. Similar to the dragon klickies and the unicorns.

Once again, I've received a small amount of new information on the status of this project! The PCC staff has given me this information:

The licensee working on PLAYMOBIL WORLD wants to adapt to the requirements of the market with regards to
mobile gaming due to the wide availability of smartphone and tablets. The concept of the game is thus currently revised
in order to make it available on mobile devices whilst still meeting all other requirements. Due to this we are not able to
confirm when the game will be published.

Well, I suppose this is still good news. The project is still being worked on, but personally I'm not interested in mobile games (as almost everyone else seems to be now). Hopefully, it will still be available for computers when it is finally released in a format that isn't too drastically changed. I thought from the trailer that it looked just about perfect and an immense amount of fun.

They should just copy Puzzle Pirates.

I don't think it would (at least in its original form) be very close to that game. The original video showed a large and interactive world that you could adventure in as a Playmobil figure. It looked very much like a traditional MMORPG, where you could collect items and equip them, complete quests, and do things with others in an online environment. I'm sure there would have been some sort of puzzle-like aspect to some of the quests or environments, but it wouldn't be restricted to that as the main form of gameplay. If it were ported to a mobile platform, I am saddened that it could turn into something like that though.

I thought it looked like a really great game as it was, and I would have played it for sure. It would be so cool to be able to collect Playmobil items that we are all familiar with and use them in the game world. It basically looked like a multiplayer and much more expanded version of Hype: The Time Quest, and that would have been awesome! I very much hope that the game still holds most of that sort of playability and that it is eventually released. Now that Morgen Studios has shifted its Playmobil-focused development to Super 4, I can only assume that they are either not on the project any longer or are not actively working on its development.

A shame they rather make another crappy mobile game than a real game.

I've never heard of any game series that improved from such a thing. The sims, age of empires, dungeon keeper and many other succesfull franchises had such terrible stripped versions of themselves on mobile to the point that its an insult to the real installments made before on PC.

Here's my (what seems to be yearly now ) update on the status of this project from the PCC staff:

There still is no update on the planned PLAYMOBIL MMORPG - most likely it has taken a back seat due to the production of the Super 4 and other projects. The licensing partner remains unchanged.

It would seem that the developers at Morgen Studios are working on Super 4 instead of the game. So, this doesn't look too good... Then again, I'm not sure anyone still expected that the game would make it (except me :D), which is truly sad considering the trailer looked like it had come along quite far already.

A Super 4 mmorpg might be possible, they could use the same graphics and let people explore the world on their own.

Usually MMORPGs don't occur in worlds with established characters like that. A Super 4 game would probably have the main characters be playable. That said, I'd much prefer the Medieval Fantasy setting anyway. ;)

I didn't mean those characters just the settings, and I agree that it would be good to explore the medieval world more. I don't see how the main characters could be played unless it was some kind of reward otherwise you'd have a field of Alex's or whatever.
