As many of you mentioned already, the references of the new sets were released on several media. Let's discuss the new sets here!
No official pictures yet, but a member of Klickywelt managed to show us some pictures. If you're not a member of Klickywelt yet, now is the moment! An overview of the new sets is listed on Amclicks as well (without pictures).
However, I guess we can expect some official pictures soon because I found a French website with the reference of series 17 already, check it out here: https://fr.shopping.rakuten.com/offer/buy/4078970840/70243-playmobil-figures-filles-serie-17.html
The German Amazon is also one of the retailers that has official pictures quite early after the word is out, so we should keep an eye on that website as well!

That's some high-level sleuthing you got going!
Thanks for sharing, it's great being able to check out the details of the new sets.

Fi?ures Series 18 has a "Scottish piper" in it, finally!!!
edit: image from KW removed

Some great stuff for 2020. New zoo has ring tailed lemurs and red pandas, both of which look fantastic.
Back to the Future has a new paint dog variation. Really liking the ScoobyDoo series, figures are well done and there is a 12 blind bag series of ghosts that looks fantastic from what little I have seen so far. Not a super fan of that show but it's a really well done series and love Halloween so it's going to be a good one for me.

I guess most of the members here know me as a true Sherlock :sherlock:
I hope to find pictures of the new zoo, but so far no results (guess they might appear on Monday, fingers crossed) and I have a busy day today! That's why I will post my thoughts of the new sets later, though I can say already that I see a lot of potential in all those figures!
-
Where are the images for series 17 and 18 or are you guys just getting descriptions at this point?
-
They're on Klickywelt.
-
A member on Klickywelt noticed that there are descriptions on "Rakuten" for all of the sets. Interesting are the descriptions for the Everdreamerz! Hereby the Google translations:

They're on Klickywelt.
Specifically here (https://klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=72151&start=30)
The link takes you to page 3, where most of the pictures are (see P.2 for Everdreamkerz pics and p.5 for the Scotchman). The rest is people saying 'Wow!' in various ways, in German.
PS ignore this-bml87 posted much better pictures above!

Still worried about the "chase" thing, whatever word they used...

I am increasingly more impressed, you have a knack for digging up info! I could have recognized none of those.
Do you think it possible the Zombie might actually be this one?

And I guess you are right about the zombie, I think it is indeed Creeper. I changed it in my post, thanks!!!

Some new hair types in there:
70245 (Footballer)
70287 (Shaggy)
Everdreamerz: at least one new type (with holes in either side at the back to attach ponytails or pom-poms)

Thanks for hunting up the images for us!

The rest is people saying 'Wow!' in various ways, in German.
Haha, that's one way to describe it  , at least on this forum we are really talking about the novelties. ;D
I would like to say that I really like all the mystery figures! Great parts to customize klickies! In that point of view they really pleased me as a collector! Can't wait to start the hunt to find my favourite figures!!!

The Spirit Girl Scout Camp set could be useful for those who do Civil War and Revolutionary War dioramas. That tent could be of use in them.

Yes, that tent is gorgeous.. Shame almost all the klickys are the weird type, made worse by that print that makes them look stupid :( A real shame. I would really like the faces...

It's just a pity that you cannot close the tent completely, but maybe if you have a second tent (and depending on which material the tent is made of) you can use another half to create a closed tent...

I bet that tent is made of paper or ultralight cardboard.

I think so too, well done Playmobil! And I guess the hat comes in black? Could be dark grey as well. It seems to be the re-use of the mold (part number unknown) that was used in set 3467 from 1984:

I wouldn't bet on it, but it looks like it might be the same fur hat that was included in 9008:

God, this is exciting. The figures look absolutely stunning. And so does the rest. Thank you very much, Tahra's friend as well as their messenger! :hatoff:
Just a question about this one:
I lost track where they belong. Scooby doo, right? And do I remember correctly that the are disassembled "figures", and ... that they come in boxes? I mean, no more feeling up bags? :o
-

No, I think they ARE figures in bag - there's a bit of the bag on the top right..

Also, this

Thanks for the great pictures!
The sweets theme is actually pretty creative and holds together well as a theme. I think i will have to get them after all. More variety there than I expected.
17 is better than 18 over all but there are some good ones in both.
The Scooby Doo ones are specific to characters on the original show. I think they've done a nice job with them.
-
Mr Toothache makes me think of Bootsy Collins
-
Many thanks for those big pics, Tahra! :-*
... that they come in boxes? I mean, no more feeling up bags? :o
The 9 additional "Candy"-figures that come on top of the 5 main "Candy" characters are a kind of surprise figures and do not come in surprise bags but in "surprise boxes". So no possible bags-feeling with those.
"surprise-boxes to collect"

18th century soldier with a bolt action rifle? Come on PM, it's like you're not even trying anymore.
Crazy indeed. Some years ago they did a DS-add on soldiers set, in which an 18th-century soldier had a Colt revolver sticking in his belt. Now a very similar "mistake". I think it is done on purpose to keep a specific part (in this case the rifle) around.
The soldier is quite boring btw, just re-use of parts from klickies in other sets that are (being) discontinued.
That green longcoat - with exactly the same print- came at least twice with a pirate. The only thing preventing doing him as a custom up-front, are his arms which aren´t available yet in that specific green with white hands (for as far as I can remember/keep track).
-
I want to add I think there are some very nice figures as well in these novelties :)
-
Tahra, do you have (such good) pics from some more novelties as well? Like from the new Pirates sets?
-
Thanks for the pictures!
I hate all these blind figures, I usually have bad luck whenever I buy them!
-
A friend of mine took better pics of that cat, so here they are... (click for full version)
Oh my, what a gorgeous sight! Thanks to your informant and thank you for sharing, tahra!
The Candy characters are most definitely unique, I like them more than I thought I would. Mrs Milkshake looks perfect as she is, and there appear to be plenty of interesting and out-of-the-ordinary parts to be used in customs.
The Scooby Doo characters are a nice bunch; is that a new beard piece on the prospector?
There are interesting new ideas among Fi?ures series: the gamer, the she-troll, the pirate lady, the bass (?) player, and the bagpipes player are total standouts. The new headset on the gamer has my attention.
The soldier is quite boring btw, just re-use of parts from klickies in other sets that are (being) discontinued.
Same with the policeman, I figured it would have a different torso print as was the case with the S16 one.
I hate all these blind figures, I usually have bad luck whenever I buy them!
That's why I spare me some time and buy them from eBay! ;)
-
Tahra, do you have (such good) pics from some more novelties as well? Like from the new Pirates sets?
No, these are the only ones she took, unfortunately.. but. a LOT better than before! :) We have gawked at them for quite some time by now..
Since we know nothing of those Scooby Doo things, they are all parts - some GORGEOUS amazing parts there!
-
Thanks a lot tahra to upload the amazing pictures of your friend!!! I will check the details later today!
-

Well spotted, true! Beard fixed around the neck, Lego style!

KID like, I think you mean!! At least that is what my sister and I agreed on.. :P

The "beard around the neck" will make it impossible to give klickies a neckpiece, collar or cloak. Not so good in my book. :-\

Don't worry about this one!!! It is an exact copy of what happens in the cartoons. The beard is taken away in the cartoon separately like it can be detached from the Playmobil figure. I guess Playmobil did this, so children don't have to lift the hair in order to take away the beard in case they want to play like it happened in the cartoon ;-)
Is it obvious I watched all Scooby-Doo chapters when I was a child? :P

It seems that all the figures come with a small "info document" with the names of the villains / monsters.

Ah! Thank you for that. (always good to have an expert!)
In that case, I take back what I said - I believe it is playmoperfect for it! :) (though personally, I'd prefer a regular beard, since the character has no meaning for me..)
-
Forgot to add this earlier: if my eyes don't betray me the miner might have the "Norman" hairpiece from 9461 in grey – now that would be a great addition, too!
Is it obvious I watched all Scooby-Doo chapters when I was a child? :P
It kinda is! ;) And your knowledge is most valuable, indeed. The possibility to reenact a "And I would have gotten away with it too..." moment kinda outweighs the cons of having the beard snap around the neck!
-
I am loving a few of the Candy figures
Could you please let me know when the tree play house will be released ?
Thank you so much for sharing these novelties :thanks:
-
I absolutely love that Tree House set!!!!

It might be very good for that specific figure, but less "enjoyable" if they´d start using that beard more generally.
-
It might be very good for that specific figure, but less "enjoyable" if they´d start using that beard more generally.
Of course. I do think it is perfect to represent that...
But I agree with you - all the more because I don't know or care about the characters, and so have no qualms about keeping them like that - we already agreed all of those "ghosts/monster/weirdos" in the ScoobyDoo theme are parts...
Unfortunately, my sister likes many the weirdos from the candies and those idiotically named ones original, or almost... ::)
-
The new candy and scooby series look awesome.
Clown and mouse lady in series 17 would be my favourites, bagpiper from series 18. Series 18 girls just look blah, lots of weird ones but no really interesting ones.
The ewok cosplayer in series 18 boys is definitely different.

I see a lot of potential in the so-called candy weirdos for the Circus theme! First I also was a bit skeptical about them, but then I saw their true purpose!

As parts, yes - I loved them on the spot - but not as they are...

Indeed! Reminds me of the super elusive 7104v2 - Medieval Knight (https://playmodb.org/cgi-bin/showinv.pl?setnum=7104) - I never managed to lay my hands on that one. :'(

Was v1 the chrome one (like the suit of armour in the Museum 3449) and v2 a dark grey one?

I thought that too or he is one of the Lost Boys from Peter Pan
-
Forgot to add this earlier: if my eyes don't betray me the miner might have the "Norman" hairpiece from 9461 in grey – now that would be a great addition, too!
I think you are right! Interesting that hairpieces used on Movie figures are finding their way into other themes. Obviously the hairpieces are not copyright!

The hair also appears on Mr. Chocolicious (the little man) of the Everdreamerz series.

Yes, that is how I understand the matter.

Indeed, and at the same time it is an assortment of useful parts – especially the fully armoured legs.

That's a possibility I hadn't thought of, but now that you say it, it might very well be!

So far, I am loving the Back to the Future DeLorean car and the Scooby Doo range with the Mystery Machine Van and figures which really remind me of the show I watched as a kid

Now we're only waiting for some more detailed pictures of the new zoo...
-
Thanks for updating the thread, bml87!
Nothing groundbreaking in these new sets, but at least there seem to be some new prints, and one can always use some more redcoats.
-
Thanks for the additional pics from the Pirates Theme. :)
Concerning the ship, really stupid the ship comes with red masts and a red bowsprite, if they had been brown it would have been much nicer (and more realistic) and it would have provided people with broken parts the chance to repair their 3550s and 3750s.
That they left off the spanker on the aftmast is enoying as well. I suppose it also won´t come with a bell like on the 3550s/3750s... metal you know. But at least it has a cabin again.

When was the last ship with rope? It also doesn't have the cargo arm so I guess these are now just aimed at younger kids than they used to be. No pulleys to hold the sails in place either.
Giant skull and swords on the mainsail also makes it only a pirate ship.
The one thing they do these days is have shooty stuff on everything, even rafts. I would actually liked to have seen a smaller canon mounted on the railing somewhere like on the railing somewhere near the wheel.
-
When was the last ship with rope?
Concering the bigger ships (twomasters), the 3940 released in 2000 was the last one with proper rigging.
It´s variant 5135 from 2011 had just 1 rope, connecting the 2 topmasts with the bowsprit.

So if I count correctly they don’t picture 9 zoo sets including the Red Pandas
-
Thanks for the heads-up, tahra! The new redcoat in the duo-pack is a customizer's dream come true I think.
-
So if I count correctly they don’t picture 9 zoo sets including the Red Pandas
The set list has 21 numbers, they show 9 so there are 12 more sets not shown. Plus there is one of the new starter sets that is zoo themed and the figure has the red panda on the shirt and hat.
I think the giraffes are a new color of yellow for the base this time. The alligator is definitely a new color variant.
A few new animals in the 123 including the duck ride and ducklings, and a new small octopus. Not sure about the fish but probably new color variations there.
-

Really? Giraffes!?
And the rhinos and hippos? Both animals we don't need more of... but if they are different...
-
I won’t mind more Hippos and Rhinos. I already have Giraffes galore, but if it’s a new color... plus I want that feeder
-

Not that I MIND.. but have a bunch (ebay phases... ::) )

Same. Except I don't really need the feeder..

The official shot / advertisement photograph - with one of the pirate's shoulder pads detached - really isn't up to standard, though. :-\

Playmobil do really love Pirates don’t they.

Don't get me started on promo shots with cheap stickers rather than printed parts.

The reason why not all the pictures of the new zoo are released is because of their different release dates (source: Meinspielzeug.ch (https://www.meinspielzeug.ch/875/playmobil-familyfun-loewen-im-freigehege-70343-385873.html)).
It also appears that there'll be two sets with elephants, one with outer fencing and one without, set 70346 appears to be a veterinarian:

That woman is on 70282.. ok, different arms and COLOR hair.. but still.
And I believe the kid looks VERY familiar too..
I love those things with the stairs though

I imagine that the things on the edge of the steps are lights; maybe working ones?

Agh, hadn't thought of that. I REALLY hope not... but you are probably right. I am SO sick of stupid blinky-winkies.. and worse, pointless senseless shooting.. THINGS.
What I can't figure out is the "wood" things that seem attached to the rocks next to these stairs... ???

They are clipped on. Some sort of hose system so you can have real water circulating?

Yes, those things.. but they look to be hard plastic to me... but maybe you're right.... they are near the water... all of them.
Can't see them in the zoo, but two of them appear on that other one, and one on the pic bml87 found...
-
Why don't the lions just stroll up the steps and snack on a couple of humans?
-
Lions can't digest plastic, silly!
-
Yeah those are light pedestals on the stairs. They are non-functional I am sure. They were used on the Children's Hospital I think. I know I have one pair of them and found them useful. Not sure about the wood thing, but probably something to do with the water features.
Lions can't digest plastic, silly!
Exactly! :D
-
“Sweetie, let’s take a stroll into the lion enclosure to see them up close”
-
The new redcoat in the duo-pack is a customizer's dream come true I think.
Not really. A few useful parts for creating some customs, yes. But as a whole, the soldier looks wrong and awful, imho.
It´s like they mixed parts from a footsoldier with an officer. And again he too comes with a wrong (19th century) rifle.
-
Lions can't digest plastic, silly!
That´s a bummer, for the global environment.

I'm in love with that Scottish bagpiper    (words I never thought I'd write )

Whoo! Where to even begin?! First of all, thank you bml87 for all the info! Now for my thoughts:
I was very skeptical of the new pirates, but I was actually impressed! I'm not a fan of the pirate's sails, but they brought the cabin back! And a new lady pirate! The soldiers' ship looked pretty good to and they had sort of new figures as well. Even a dark-skinned one! The new "island" set seemed fairly new, but I personally would've preffered a new building.
I was very, very unsure of the Everdreamerz. I liked the concept as I'm a real sucker for candy-themed fashion (no pun intended). Yet, it just felt weird fo it to be coming from Playmobil. Then I saw the figures and now I'm HOOKED got dangit! >:( Guess I gotta get them all!
Now for the blind bags....I LOVED them! This looks like a REALLY cool batch! With new and interesting concepts instead of (to my knowledge) recycled ones. Like: a male fairy, a dark-skinned female fairy (here's to hoping for a male one), a forest witch(?), a female dwarf, new ball gowns!, jester!, tall female clown, and that bear thing?.
Overall, things seem to be looking up so far! Here's to what the New Year brings!
-

That must be either very affirming of very annoying, Tiermann!
Can you post a link to show your version?
They also stole the Ewok in Fi?ures Series 18 boys!

I noticed that the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine is currently in stock at some Argos Stores in the UK, I didn't even know it was available anywhere yet???
-
You are right! https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4664040 (https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4664040)
But at £50, I think I will wait to get a better price!

According to the BleedingCool website the Scooby Doo sets are available at Walmart in the US starting in January and they have an exclusive until May when they go to general release. I checked Walmart online and they show them in stock at my local store. Will check this weekend.

Hi! Does anyone know which Playmobil easter eggs there will be in Belgium this year? (+do you have pictures of them)
Thanks!
-
I’m very much looking forward to having the Scooby Doo sets out in the uk.
-
Can confirm, ordered the 2 Scooby Doo sets and they came yesterday... they did a nice job overall... Fred's ascot/collar is an odd choice though.

No clue, I don´t think we´ve got pics of those yet...
Or am I wrong?

The Mystery machine and the Shaggy, Scooby and ghost sets are both available on the Playmobil Canadian website.

Playmobil posted on Instagram with a Heidi photo and I asked if they were going to release the Heidi series int eh US. They replied that no it will not be coming out in the US. So if we are wanting sets from the theme we will need to buy from overseas I guess.

That is terrible :(

I figured that Heidi wouldn’t make it here since the last mountain rescue series didn’t. I guess I’ll have to trust Amazon for it.
James, think Sir Troy would get it over here?

I'm not surprised, but very disappointed. I don't think the cartoon is well-known here.

Does the current generation of American parents not know the Heidi story?

I have no idea about that.. Here we used to watch the cartoons (prettier, imo, than the current ones, but that is probably nostalgia) when I was a wee cub...
-
Does the current generation of American parents not know the Heidi story?
I don't think Heidi is popular enough in the Anglo-sphere to merit a toy range without the cartoon to back it, so it depends on the popularity of the cartoon (if that makes sense).
It could also be a licensing issue.
-
My sister was a keen Heidi fan, although that was in the 1950s when it was a book with words.

Haha, I had a Ladybird version as a child but I definitely wouldn't say it was widespread for my generation - I don't remember the plot really. I think my Mum read the original and said she found it pretty hard going (although she might have been talking about the sequels which are by a different author).
-

Probably they think "Heidi aus Tirol" is a German X-rated movie ;D
-

I don't think we had Heidi cartoons when I was a kid, there was a tv series (movie?) with real people in it I remember though.
-
Yeah Heidi's not known in America, by young people not at all. I'm saddened by PM's decision here but I can't blame them.
