Playmobil posted on Instagram with a Heidi photo and I asked if they were going to release the Heidi series int eh US. They replied that no it will not be coming out in the US. So if we are wanting sets from the theme we will need to buy from overseas I guess.

I figured that Heidi wouldn’t make it here since the last mountain rescue series didn’t.  I guess I’ll have to trust Amazon for it.

I'm not surprised, but very disappointed. I don't think the cartoon is well-known here.

I have no idea about that.. Here we used to watch the cartoons (prettier, imo, than the current ones, but that is probably nostalgia) when I was a wee cub...

I don't think Heidi is popular enough in the Anglo-sphere to merit a toy range without the cartoon to back it, so it depends on the popularity of the cartoon (if that makes sense).

It could also be a licensing issue.

My sister was a keen Heidi fan, although that was in the 1950s when it was a book with words.

Haha, I had a Ladybird version as a child but I definitely wouldn't say it was widespread for my generation - I don't remember the plot really. I think my Mum read the original and said she found it pretty hard going (although she might have been talking about the sequels which are by a different author).

Probably they think "Heidi aus Tirol" is a German X-rated movie
