I would like to give an update regarding the current situation with DS ordering in Malta. My last DS order was in Summer, and based on that experience, I doubt I will place another order, unless the local branch gets it act together and starts going about things in a more professional manner. Anyway: the order was a fairly large one, about two typed A4 pages. Now, the way it works here is that you send them the order, and after a couple of days they give you the quote ... but they only give you the quote, and only that. They don't give you a breakdown of the quote, they don't tell you what's available and what's not etc etc. The quote came to more than a thousand euro ... which I thought was obviously a mistake, and it later transpired that it was. The actual quote was 120 euro. I placed the order and after a month or so the parts were ready to pick up. I did. At the shop I checked to see what was in there and what was not (since I never was told what was available and what wasn't). Clearly, there were many items from my order that were not there, and what was there certainly did not amount to 120 euro. I told them so. After some checking, they decided to charge me 100 euro for the whole lot, which was ok by me, BUT ... i still would have liked to see a breakdown of what cost what and how it totalled 100 euro and not 120. Based on that experience, as I said, I doubt Ill place another DS order any time soon, moreso because - from what I read in this forum - things are done differently with PM in other countries. As is usual with PM Malta, following this experience, I nobody ever got back to me to explain what had happened and why it was decided first to charge me 120 euro for an order and why, all of a sudden, the price dropped to 100. Couldn't they go about this thing in a more transparent manner? If they get a price per part breakdown from Germany, can't they pass it on to the customer? Little things like that, I'm not asking for much.
