playmobil vs. clothespins
« on: September 15, 2011, 16:16:53 »
:) i recently discovered this image of an american playmo-add from 1977.
:hmm: do you think this clothespins were also available in europe back then.
:hmm: could it be that they were the inspiraton behind hans beck's initial design?

I know that Hans Beck used to make little people out of wood before Geobra went looking for him. That was actually the reason they looked him up and asked him to work for them and design the klicky... but if that cloth pin was his design I have no clue.

probably to remind you that only lame people from 1947 don't use modern band-aids and still play with clothespins instead of cool cutting edge plastic figures :)

But seriously I think its supposed to be a "wave of the future" kind of thing...

I don't think so. It must have something to do with what's written in the articule. Probablu we won't know.  :(

Maybe it's about the use of plastics.... toys made of plastic instead of wood, and plastic bandaids instead of fabric bandages.

Yep. Band-aids are a modern invention.
Cheers!
