Thanks Erwin for the pics!

these unreleased prototypes are way too cool to be on a mainstream market ;D

the medieval/torture set...cruel-looking, but i like it

i can see now why some magic sets include arabic pieces...they were transported from an unfinished theme!(?) -was that the begining of a middle-east theme? i don't see it related to the medieval theme at all...somebody explain to me!!! :hissyfit: :hissyfit: :hissyfit:

and what's exceptional about that medieval roof that we can barely see on the lower left? :hmm: ???
Enjoy the elegance and fun of 1900 with The Victorians photo story! :gent: ;D :sherlock:

And I thought these items were custom made...Are you sure about your infos, these being in a glass cabinet in Zindorf?
Cheers,
Arnaud

Well, the person(s) who originally posted the pics on Klickywelt (in 2009 or 2010 I think) claim that these are pics of the original prototypes and are kept in Geobra hands.
I'll go look for the thread on KW and post a link to it.

Some people have made customs of Mississippi-river steamboats, but usually these are based on the old houseboat 3540:

Here's another link first (I rediscovered this one while searching for the prototype-thread), it shows a wonderful custom-river steamboat made from several 3540 houseboats by KW-member "Colt". The boat is called "Colorado Queen":

http://www.klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=18909&p=426657&hilit=Colorado+Queen#p426657
(scroll up a bit there to see the best full pic of the custom-ship)

He made the hull and lower deck from 2 or 3 houseboats, the upper deck from Western Railway passenger-wagons, and the stearing-hut comes from the old white fishing-trawler.

Found it again!  :)
Here's the LINK to the THREAD on KLICKYWELT with info (also about other prototypes) & the pics from the PLAYMOBIL ORIGINAL PROTOTYPES mentioned above:

http://klickywelt.de/viewtopic.php?t=38779&highlight=raddampfer

The pics were posted there by KW-member "Ikeama" (usually a good source for all kinds of news about sets), and he writes that these prototypes are kept in Zirndorf behind glass...

Both boats look fantastic! The small one looks like an air boat used in the bayous, & swamps here!
