I absolutely love the Mississipi Steamboat

If I had the time and the talent, I would love to one day recreate the adventures of Tom Sawyer & Huckleberry Finn but this would be a project of such epic proportions  :-[

Well. one can dream  :cloud9:

I hadn't seen this thread before... in a way it makes me sad that the sets were not released... BUT it does show that the design department developed these sets, which means that if the day comes when it is cost effective (IE direct marketed to collectors instead of kids for more $$$  :crossed: ) then perhaps these or similar sets would be produced... SO I am HOPEFUL!!! Hooray, and thanks for bumping this up or I never would have seen it!!!
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.

Is it me, or is there a horned owl in that picture with the medeival torture equipment?! :o

I do wish they would reconsider producing really expensive sets like the steamboat or the ferris wheel for collectors. It could be only available through the website, under a collector section, similar to how lego markets the death star and other huge, expensive sets.

I missed this thread!

The steamboat doesn't seem that big when you see the picture of it.  I remember the western train when it came out and it was over $300 new.

The medieval "torture" equipment isn't torture at all.  It's basically "time out" equipment.

Yet, they go and produce an executioner ...  ???

Yeah, it is more like time-out equipment! I don't see anything horribly offensive about playmobil stocks. I mean stocks aren't fun, but kids' attractions all over the world have stocks kids can get into and try out. They aren't going to be scarred for life from learning about them. ::) Now I can see how MAYBE a rack or... thumbscrews  might cross the line. Maybe. But they really should release the stocks.

I agree with the stocks. In a lot of "family theme parks" or musea you can let your photo taken in one of these things.
