Hi Heronimus,

As far as I am aware 4900 is the export (blue) version of 4609...these were released in 2003. The green was released in Germany but it was the blue version we got here in the UK.

4669 was released in 2008 and has no green version. By this time the German Polizei were wearing blue. The only difference between the sets is that 4669 says Polizei on the uniform and 4902 says Police.

Yes I have all 3, International Blue 4900, German Green 4609, German Blue 4669
You can look them up at PlaymoDB in the Police Theme category to see the differences. The 4669 is a new uniform type different from the previous ones.

Basically, what has happened is that blue is now the standard international police colour (maybe just in the EU) and so the German green uniform and green on police vehicles is being discontinued in Playmobil just as in the real world.  It's a good example of Playmobil's practice of seeing that as the real world changes in regard to Playmobil sets, the sets change to match the real world.

I see!! This is a very good lesson about the German Police. I love the green one better......and actually quite unique I would say. I asked coz the TRU in Hong Kong all in a sudden is flooded with 4900 :hmm:

No, nor do the real police forces change all their cars at once.
