Star Trek: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Playmobil set Enterprise. Its five thousand unit mission: to explore strange new markets. To seek out new customers and new profits. To boldly sell where no toy has sold before!

I can't believe this will actually be a thing. Part of me wants it, but - you know - money, space, adulting. Realistically, I just want to play with it for about a month.

Wonder if they'll do a Borg Cube! That would be a lot easier to make that the Enterprise ;D

A Birg cube would be easier to assimilate than the Enterprise. You could use it as an end table.

It could double as a storage chest.

I am still confused about this set. Part of me cries "I want that, I need that, I always wanted ST Playmobil!" another part of me tells me "this price is ridiculous, where shall I put it, where are all those great small and medium sized ST sets?"

And I wonder what Playmobil think they are doing? After treating the collector community not very well in the past they suddenly pop out a collector's dream (theme, size) and nightmare (price, size) at the same time. Star Trek is so much more than just a giant Enterprise model and to me this licence makes only sense if they make a whole line out of it.

Yes, all of this is very exiting but I don't know what to make of it. What else do they have in the pipeline for the collector market? Do they have a pipeline? What will happen if this set fails (which is quite possible at this pricing)?

The original Star Trek show was more focused on the adventures of the characters in various environments than showing the actual ship cruising around.
The shots of the actual ship in space were more used as transitions between scenes, so while the ship's bridge is a key set of the franchise, making a whole ship might've been ambitious. Plus at this size, how am I supposed to swoosh it around the house?

I would be more interested sets of characters in memorable set ups. They did release a four pack of figures for Ghostbusters, maybe we'll be lucky and they'll do it for Star Trek as well.

A selection of Klingons would be good...but which era? The 1960s versions, 1980s to early 2000s, or the ones that are particularly weird from the Discovery series.

As someone who doesn't know the difference, but loves fantasy klickys.. I say ALL OF THEM! :P
