in the german playmobil site you can see the new small pirate's island coming out in 2008.
it is called 4139 -kompakt set pirateninsel

What's the deal with these new cannons? Not liking the ammo to much. I guess it must be a new safety issue. :(

That's exactly it. North America is a litigation jungle, and Playmobil are playing safe, if I may be excused the expression.

In the UK we can order pairs of cannons with proper ammo from the direct ordering service - though the stacks of cannonballs do tend to roll everywhere unless secured with blu-tack.

Well we can stiil get the old style cannons here in the U.S. but for how much longer i'm not sure. ???

here is a new picture of the 4156 adventskelender.
we are still having 30ºc temperatures now in portugal and i think this set means that my christmas will still be warm.

I was waiting to see the "actual" hat - the artist's impression could have been misleading.

I think you're right - but it appears to be the only thing in the entire set that is new, everything else I already have from other sets, unfortunately. I'll wait for this hat to appear elsewhere, I won't be rushing out to buy this advent calender. Now if they'd included the new small sailing dingy instead of another rowboat...
