Not much I assume. The average buyer doesnt get any of it.

First of all the child would need to have a specific need regarding a theme that cant be fulfilled by stores.
Second, the parents need to care about fulfilling that need by ordering stuff through DS which is a bit harder than just walking into a store and getting it there, unless no stores are near.

Here in the Netherlands I am not familiar with that concept since you can pretty much buy playmobil everywhere there are stores. I live in a larger village and we already have two places where its sold, with probably about twenty more stores half an hour away in the nearby cities and villages. All toystores have it, and any other store with a toy department has it as well.

Though I gues that unlike the stuff from stores, the DS stuff is probably bought far more by collectors than anyone else. I'd gues 3/4 of the DS orders might be from collectors, or at the very least half of it considering the quantities that stuff is often purchased in.

I wonder if the top parts of the Asian castles can be removed and be used as houses. A pity they didn't come up with some simple houses, a dojo for instance (that would be cool!) or a system with simple Japanese walls -the black and white rectangles- and a wooden floor (the ones used in the western theme) to build your own house (or dojo  ;D)

I do like the klickies that come with the castles and the new weapons!

It looks to me like the roof pieces come off the castles. I like the main structure. It look like the same building system as the last batch of castles. I can picture two of these on the corners and main gate in between.

on the red gates from the company image it has orange in the doors but in the actually picture I do not see them.

I do not know how much a builder of a castle would want to advertise the door by painting it so red. I think if that door, the hinged portcullis and the cage on the side were painted black it might tone down the entrances and put a little more visual emphasis on the roofs area.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Reminds me a bit more of chinese than japanese, probably some inspiration from the great chinese wall. The smaller fort does look a bit better than the larger fort.

ah, at least I see a usable Asian part in the new shopping mall  ;) ...the lady buying ice cream, if I tidy and trim her black bunned hair...she'll be on her way to join my terracotta soldiers...what a scary prospect for her  :P

as for the Asian fantasy, ::)
I know they are meant for kids play
and targeted at them but so are LEGX's ninja sets (they are also fantasy but more accurate and it doesnt make them less desirable to kids right?)
..not a single torso/armour/pair of legs can be seriously used
(except for a few building parts and the composite bow)
..well, at least I dont have to replace any legs/torsos/armour/weapons on my samurai/mongol/korean/terracotta customs after Sept. ;)
Cheng,
Your customs are real great.
I have some playmobil pieces to custom, but I don't know nothing about Asians.
Where can I find some first information?
Thanks.
Leonardo

Does anybody know what red thing that hangs on top of the wall is supposed to be?  Is it a fantasy pirate type gang plank? In the old castles I like the features of  defence. The old one had the boulder dropper. It was a very neat contraption and taught the kids many things. Then there was the flipping bed of spikes that would greet invaders at the top of a ladder. I and the kids liked those type of accessories and wanted to know if this had any?

A short news-video (in German language)  about the toyfair which opens officially today, there is a small contribution about Playmobil's new shopping figures and Asia Dragon theme;

http://www.br.de/nachrichten/messe-spielwaren-nuernberg-100.html

At the end of the movie, the journalist says toys for girls (in general, not just Playmo) are in demand to be.... completely pink  ::)

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

Yes thank you for the video link. Looks like they take toys quite seriously over there at that convention. It looks more like a bankers meeting than a toy show. I see the toy industry uses the booth babes also

Thanks for the link.

Funny how Rico manages to slip into the background on the one shot.  ;D
