Western General Store

I wanted to go ahead and show pictures of this building set up as a general store with living quarters up above for the rather rich family who owns it. I'm going ahead and showing it, because I decided to change it for my western town dio. I decided it makes more sense to use this large house as a saloon and hotel, so the general store is now in a much smaller building.

Anyway, here is my grande western general store.

Not all of the furniture is historically accurate, especially all the shelves, but I had limited stuff to work with. Hope you like it!

What fun, Bonnie.  I want to shop there myself!    Love the way you displayed everything.  So much to see.
The entire set up is very clever.  The family have nice digs above!

Ahhh this is so nice!!! Lots of little details to see and observe, and the idea of using this dollhouse for a western building is very nice!!!! I think it would not be too far away from the truth, if you could find such a building in a big town...

I can not tell what the counter is made from  at first I thought it was part of the old ambulance interior

When setting this house up in a western dio you can really see how colorfull it actually is, especially the wallpaper

Thanks so much everyone! Anybody else want to guess what the counters are made from? I'll give a hint, these pieces are turned on their side, they are originally meant to be upright.

A lot of it does work, really. I haven't shown the front, but I removed all the window boxes and shutters which helps a bit. You wouldn't think the shutters would be a problem, but somehow it looks better without them. I would love to change out the metal railings, for a wooden railing, especially if I could make the balconies bigger. But I haven't had time to think about how. The only thing majorly wrong with the exterior now is the roof line.

Yep, a little too colorful, especially the cat wallpaper. If I were really doing it up right I would put in more period-appropriate wallpapers, not modern dots and cats.

And I'm lost as to the counters, although I suspect they are cupboards, but if they are, why do they need to be turned upside down?
