Flea Market Find
« on: November 23, 2011, 17:50:51 »
Hello all,

Whenever I get the chance, I visit flea-markets or garage sales to see if I can find some Playmo treasures. Its not often that I find something nice, but every now and then, you get lucky! The below set I found this weekend and although I probably overpaid for it, I couldn't resist getting it! Its a mix up of parts that probably were sold somewhere in 2000-2002, but altogether, it makes a nice scene.

The viking tent was easy to spot, but to what set the rocks belong, I wouldn't know. The horse and wagon probably are incomplete (what set was it?) but it too fits in wonderfully!

Edit...how do I link to a picture in my photo gallery?...working on it..

That's a really nice combination of sets.
The wagon is from a farm set 3117 - Horse & Buggy

Despite the odd combination it does look fitting together. I am curious though how much you paid for it.

Yes, it's an interesting combination, looks like they were put together by a collector. Or a kid with a really good imagination!

I can only say whot others said already. If I had found this, I'd immidiately begin splitting the parts in their right category ...

I reckon the seller had bought up a huge pile of playmo and decided to make some nice looking sets, but totally unaware of the sets meanings or themes. You know how it goes with flea market sellers. I do like the horse and carriage though. When stripped of the flowery designs that come with the original set, it seems to be able to fit right in!

The viking tent is a bit harder to mix in a western them I must admit  :P

@Rhalius, I paid 12.5 Euros for it (16.65 USD). Was it too much, I dunno...but I couldn't resist rescueing these brave soldiers from that fleamarket!

Well 12.5 euro for such nice looking klicky's with a carriage and a tent, pretty fair deal.

Reference to the crazy little fish in Finding Nemo that wouldn't let any of the bubbles escape from the chest in the aquarium.
