Suggesting Specials
« on: September 22, 2011, 15:27:22 »
I've seen lately that many people is not very happy with the last Specials that have been out.
Being SPECIALS one of my main themes I have to say I like them and collect them all.

But.... why don't we suggest Geobra, here in this thread, what figure we think would make a nice Special?

It would be better if we all can illustrate our ideas with pictures (customs or grafis) of what our suggestion would look like.

Anyone on board??  :)

Yes...my brain needs to start clicking again.
Life's essentials: food, water, shelter and at least one klicky.

:) i am glad you started up this thread tonguello.
when i first thought on suggesting sylvia this brainstorming section i was hoping that a lot of us would find it a good idea.
it is having a slower start than i imagined but i am confident that this means that things will go slowly but surely.

;D if we all look at the new 2012 olympic releases we can see how some of our ideas can get done - i am sorry but i can't recall whom between us had this idea (using the winter olympics bach then).

:-[ i confess i don't have a lot of ideas about new specials.
i have a strategy though - going for figures that are easy to recognize and don't need to pay royalties.
if geobra doesn't call them by their names it will be easier.
robin hood is a good example of this just released.

zorro could be another one.
and a double-blister with ahab and moby-dick (maybe even adding queequeg).
and even a captain aubrey and doctor maturin double blister.

;) anyhow, if geobra looks on the forthcoming movies that we can bet will be box-office successes (we just have look at the director and actors names) and uses the time close to their release to also release new similar-themed special they can make a lot of money.

:hmm: to use the classics...
gulliver (lilliput)
alice (in wonderland, with a rabbit and the cheshire cat) - to late for tim burton's success
frankenstein
dr. jekill and mr. hide
notre-dame's hunchbak

 but the ones i would really love to see made (forgetting the strategy i proposed) are the characters from the wizard of oz.
dorothy with ruby slippers, toto (a new dog mould), the wicked witches, the good witch, oz, the scarecrow, the tin-man, the cowardly lion...
... and the yellow brick road with a piece of the emerald city (o.k. this would have to be a bigger set, not a special).

a literature series would be amazing... there is plenty of material out there... they could even do the little playmo story books with them ... like the ones in the noah's ark and the nativity sets

well.. I have some ideas I will present on time.
Ironically one was the geisha I made last year but i just learnt one of the new fi?urs is a geisha... I wonder if they are really listening  :)
anyway... I have ideas I have never heard of or seen before (like the geisha) so if in 2013 we see them done... you should thank me.

just kidding, but I hope they are watching.  :)

most historical figures are also fair game are they not?

I could sure use a Benjamin Franklin klicky... complete with a kite and bald head with long hair on the sides... classy :)

I dream of new, modern Hispanic, African, and Asian families/couples as Specials so we can get more variety of ethnic people doing normal things. Playing cards, musical instruments, tennis, golf, frisbee, volleyball, soccer together or swimming, skiing, bowling, walking/jogging, biking, gardening, shopping, driving cool cars, and just enjoying life together.

If these figures could be easily taken apart like the collectibles, that would be a huge plus because I am very tired of damaging and breaking their parts while taking them apart.

And on these figures could we get some new hair colors with more shades of gray, blonde  and red along with newer hair styles including Afros and curlier hair? Cheers, Pgal
