English Navy ensign
« on: September 11, 2011, 19:49:53 »
Another of my sailor customs...

"Ensign" this time is not the flag on a ship's stern, but the junior officer supposed to handle it  ;D

His torso is quite common but it came with this white scarf in the new US-exclusive 5948 "soldiers' boat". (the scarf was as far as I know only available in very darkblue and came with the sailors from the white 3740-schooner/sloop/cutter, and the chinese pirate in set 3790 from the late '80s/early '90s)

His legs are the very light brown/beige ones with white socks from the Redcoat officers in the renewed pirates' theme.

The original klicky from set 5948 on which the figure is based, had the same trousers but in red.  I'm using those pants on other figures.
A black tricorne instead of the darkgrey one he came with, and a brown poneytail wig and darkblue cuffs are added to make the "finishing touch".

Resistance is futile, you will be boarded!

precious Ensign Hadoque!
......the scarf was as far as I know only available in very darkblue and came with the sailors from the white 3740-schooner/sloop/cutter, and the chinese pirate in set 3790 from the late '80s/early '90s) [/size]...

youre right about those blue scarf which were hard to find for late collectors like me, so maybe we'll have to hoard these white ones this time around ;)

I'm jealous!  I wish I had a a few! I've never owned the original schooner and sailing crew, so my british ships have nothing but admirals and redcoats being passed off as marines.  I wish Playmobil would make more non-admiral crew members including bosuns, first mates, lower-ranking officers, ensigns, real marines, sailors, deckhands, a cook, perhaps, sailing masters, etc....

well done!
Ahoy, Pirates, Hoist the Colours!
