The weird window
« on: September 10, 2011, 17:41:39 »
Here is the surprise I mentioned in this thread http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=6017.90
This comes with a story.

In 2008 (one year before I came back to collecting) I was walking through an unfamiliar street in Buenos Aires, on my way to a friend's house. Walking, minding my own business, I spotted the window of the weirdest shop I've ever seen.
This shop had two display windows, for they sell two types of merchandise.... kids toys on one side and women's lingerie on the other  .
Funny enough it was the toy section that caught my attention  :-[ More specifically a playmobil box, it's colors very faded for being on the window for too long. It was a Mobil Crane. I hadn't seen a Playmobil in maybe 5 years by then and I really liked the box. Anyway... going back to Playmobil was not even on my mind yet, so I walked away.

Last week...3 years later, by chance I found the shop again and eventhough it was closed I went to see the windows looking for that crane I liked so much. It was not there. But looking inside of the shop, behind the counter I spotted it. So a few days later I went back and................................... here it is

I was very surprised to find it and more surprised to find out it is ANTEX. Of course I bought it anyway for ANTEX from 1992 was better than nowadays ANTEX.

The quality is very good, though not perfect. One important part is missing and the clickies' arms and hands are horrible. oh and the strings for the hooks were blue  8} 8} 8}, but I fixed everything, except the missing part.

Nevertheless...I'm in love with this set....I'm so happy! It was like love at first sight!

I'm very glad it was the PM window that caught your eye and not the lingeries ;D.

Still, very nice find! What part is missing? Can you substitute it?
Cheers!

Thank you guys!...I also think of it like a love story!

@Luciano, the part missing is one of the main features of the crane. I have no idea how hard to find it is though.

That's not too bad (IMO) - it's more like an accessory.
But I think you will have a bear of a time in finding a replacement :-\.
Cheers!

It's a long shot but maybe someone could try ordering for you the lighter grey one from set 4490.

Of all the different versions that is the most recent one they made. Better to have one in the wrong colour than none at all. :)
