More Kirkbean Photos - western and dinosaur jungle
« on: September 09, 2011, 14:28:46 »
After having a very busy August I thought that when September came I would have more time, but until today, September has been just as hectic.
Here therefore are some very overdue photos from the exhibition, my computer's playing up and has a habit of closing down when I'm uploading photos so that's another reason for the delay!
Looking at other dioramas I realise that these displays look rather sparse in comparison, I just wish that I'd had more time to spend on the finer details. Anyway, hope you like them for what they are...

First of all, Western - Damo put the klickies etc in the scene for me, I just did the buildings and landscape mainly.

I didn't have a chimney for my custom blacksmiths so I made one out of 2 steck buttresses and some system x...

Junior did a small jungle display with dinosaurs...

Throughout the diorama he hid coloured frogs for children to find...I think there are two in this photo...

I'll post circus and school photos later this evening.

Thanks so much, Elaine!  I am seeing some of the western theme items for the first time.  They look awesome displayed this way.  The dinosaurs appear to be in a real jungle, beautifully done!

Great displays. Very clever on the blacksmith forge, it looks nicely convincing.

Thanks for the photos, Elaine.  The chimney for the blacksmith's forge looks just the job, and  wouldn't worry about the open spaces on the western diorama, after all at that time that's what the west was, a few people in a lot of space.

Your photos of the jungle scene are very good - I gave up as all the detail was lost in the photo.  I think it's because you used flash that your pics came out well.
