Do you think the bears are the really dark brown or the regular brown? I've only seen the really dark ones from the UK lately so was thinking maybe they were Playpeople, but it could be that they were DS instead.

I have a bear from the 80's that is that really dark brown colour; my dancing bear set (although I don't know what brown you are comparing this to)

Damo :)

The older bears are darker... there is an old zoo set with the darker bears too... and the old dancing bear of course... the 90's dancing bear is much lighter than any of the previous bears...
Someday, I will organize my stuff, I promise.

I don't actually have any of that style of bear, and i like it better than the big grizzly/kodiak bears. :-\ It drives me crazy that they produced at some point the grizzly/kodiak bear in black, as neither of those bears is ever black. 8}

Now black bears, on the other hand, are often brown, spotted, or even yellowish white, so to have these smaller bears which are shaped more like black bears produced in brown makes sense enough I guess.

Thanks for this, Damo.

It's interesting to see that some of these items were still in the DS catalogue until recently, for example the farm water tanker, while you could still buy the old style pirate cannon from DS parts say 5 years ago and maybe still can.
