Detail for set 4617- Chimney Cleaner
« on: August 30, 2011, 15:15:06 »
Hello to all,

I have two questions about this set:

1.Does the original hat has a green leaf printed on it ?
2.Does any one knows the part number for the black handle (with the little hook) for the rope, not the chimney cleaning device piece (with the ball at the end)from the other side?

Thank you.

4617 - Chimney Sweep

There is no green leaf on the actual Klicky (at least not on the regular special - I do remember seeing it on a design of box for this set)

As for the handle, all of the 'tools' come together on one sprue, and as far as I am aware they don't have a part number

Damo :)

Damo is right, there are no part numbers for any Specials.  I've quite a lot of chimney sweeps and I sometimes come across sets of the tools in my bits box and, when I do, I can send you one, but I can't guarantee finding one.

Ah, found it!

It's the Vedes 4988 box that shows the chimney sweep with a four leaf clover on his hat.

I haven't got this set, so I don't know whether he actually has the leaf on his hat :-\

3rd ed. p.33

Thank you Gordon i'll be glad if you manage to find a spare handle.

Or if you know a recent set that has this handle in order to order it from DS.

I'm much further away Grangel....if Gordon cant find one eventually...I'll be able to find one and mail it to you (I dont use them in a complete set anyway)

They make good railway staff, George, fitted with a black peaked cap and with the scarf removed.  I have fitted one or two with the collar and tie from the 1990s policeman:

And with four of them you can send grangel four of the hooks he's wanting!
