Miscelaneous customs (6)
« on: May 28, 2011, 19:05:32 »
Last week I got a lot of 3 Christkind angels that I wanted to customize.
I barely have spare parts but I'd been also wanting to do something with what I had. So, with the customizing mode set up I came up with (so far but more to come)  6 custom clickies, three  100% playmo and three with some….adjustments (color and shape)
So first the “all playmo” clickies.
First one is fun. Unconsciously I came up with it and then realised that with a couple of accessories she could be…. Sister Maria from The Sound of Music which is running at a theater for the first time in B.A. so it is a big deal around here!   I mean ….she reminds me of her!

Anyway….I had had an extra Dracula for ages and never decided what to do with him. With a few minor changes…. He is now a respectable, white glove Victorian Doctor.

And last is a Victorian Lady. Very similar to Gis’ wife’s custom for Karim story (so thanks for the inspiration) but again, just with what I had as spare parts, so in fact it is a coincidence. I love her!

Now, those that needed more work.
First a British Colonial Colonel (at least my version of it) who used to be a Santa Claus. I modified the coat adding lapels to the jacket (that I made myself) and a belt.  Later of course I painted everything!

Then is Miss Alina Blanchard in her sweet sixteen dress. There's here some paint details in the skirt and bows and some glue. I love the one in the hair!!  The details in gold where done with an airbrush and some micro stencil things that I found by chance at a hobby shop. I bought around 80 motives!

And last but not least, Czarina Nadia Klikova. The one that took the hardest work. The skirt has a difficult paint job. I used a rubbery masking tape that works wonders with undulated surfaces (but is very hard to put in place) that worked really well to make the golden stripes. Then I modified the shape of the blue front just to make it a little different from the original but I didn't want to loose of the details. Then the hat from a guard wich chin stripe ended up in Greece, became this fashionable Russian hat with golden details again with a stencil.
Some more details in the chest and a fur scarf with a "Russian star" to complete the cold Siberian look!

ENJOY!

Wow just wow, Gaston! The colonial colonel reminds me of this crazy hunter in Jumanji.

Those are wonderful, Gaston, each one is better than the one before.  The first is spot on for Maria, the colonel I can hear shouting, "There's a tiger - pass me me gun!" but best of all is Czarina Nadia Klikova.

:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

They're all wonderful Gaston! The first one immediately made me think of Maria, singing "I Have confidence in Me" before I even read what you said!

But Alina Blanchard... :inlove:  :inlove:  :inlove: She's beautiful! very simple but sooo elegant, and young and innocent-looking. The bow in her hair is a perfect touch. BTW, one of my best friends' name is Alida Blanchard.

Wow! These are amazing customs! Maria from the Sound of Music is so cute! And the others are first class. Congratulations!!!
After two decades of male toys (esp. Lego and PM) in our house, it is time to build something for us women!

They are all very clever, Gaston.  I think my favorite is the converted Santa.  Thanks so much for sharing them with us.
