Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive and go do it. Because what the world needs is more people who have come alive – Howard Thurman.

Hello from a neighbor! ;)

Hi! We are in Cary. Do you know of any PM groups in the area?
Do you go to any PM conventions? It seems that there are a lot more shows in Europe.
Do you any place to trade or buy used PM in the area?
Glad someone else does this around here!
We have gone to Lego shows, but no PM ones. Thanks! ;D
After two decades of male toys (esp. Lego and PM) in our house, it is time to build something for us women!

It seems to me that the ideal places to have Playmobil conferences would be at their theme parks. They already own the space, haves security and clean it, and have stores there so we can buy more Playmobil. And admission is very cheap if it is still just a dollar.

The Florida park is well located just off I-95; we hope to visit it in July on a business trip nearby. I will scope it out for meeting and exhibition space. Their website says they do birthday parties and have some indoor space and a Lechuza store.

This could be a win win situation for all because admission is low, and we would not have to put on a conference all by ourselves, which is a big pain in the you know what. I used to be in that business in Alaska, and a conference can eat up your entire life.

We attend some Lego conventions and have gained experience from participating in those shows. At the last one I did a seminar on building Lego ladies. It would be fun having some of us friends talk about building a specific kind of PM. I could volunteer to do a garden themed talk.

Fall could be a great time to draw adults who want to get out of the cold...maybe early November or even Thanksgiving weekend since that is a long one. Hotel rates in FL tend to go up around Christmas and then again in Feb. for the spring season.

Does anyone know if they have they had a conference at a PM theme park anywhere, and if it went well? Has anyone asked them to hold one?

In order to give folks on the West Coast a chance to do the same, how about one out there, too, since most of us would have to drive there to transport our displays.

This could make it a fun outing for adults and families, and drive up sales of toys. At the Lego shows, they sell a ton of sets to registered adult collectors at 25-50% off in their nearby stores.

And it would be fun to attend just to see the variety of intricate displays even if you did not exhibit your own work.

Anyway y'all know a lot more about this than I, so let the fun begin!
