What a lovely video. Shame horst has backed out on all the principles he gave here (no war in space etc..). I do find it strange that Beck says he hates violence. Almost all series have soldiers in them even the 1900 series. I don't like that they diss on the videogames. Those are the onces I grew up with and still play on my Mega Drive. I love the fact that they do everything by hand, they are really craftsmen!

It is a shame that they have not been able to stick to Beck's principles. We now do have futuristic sci-fi themes and the medieval themes focusing entirely on violence instead of everyday life. :( But on the other hand, I feel they are doing what they have to do. If they want their primary audience -- kids -- to keep buying the sets, they have to make what sells. :-\ It won't do any of us any good if the company goes bankrupt. So I fully support them in making more "modern" sets, as long as they also consider us collectors and take care of our wants.

I dont entirely agree with you bb. A successfull toy brand can create trents. Playmobil should have kept those principles and create more educational sets for themes like medieval. These new top agents look horrific and violent and aggressive and mutants etc , just not playmobil. even the smile is gone in some klickies. JUst not right . I will never buy these new sets and i hope they do so bad they are out soon . and they bring back steck and n :-X
:knight: Steck is Holy . Bring back more steck sets and its guardians , the Nuremberg Guards :knight:

I'm afraid as much as we'd like to think so, playmobil is not yet a big enough toy company to start trends. :-\ It certainly isn't in the US anyway!

Sadly its still standing in the shadow of lego in many countries.

Playmobil seems to have gained a lot of popularity in the Netherlands though, especially when Lego was doing so poorly. I was working at a toy store at the time and playmobil sold at least four times as much as lego back then.

Maybe they should look into employing more playmobil for schools and business. Theres clicky cops helping out training cops in afganistan after all, I believe clickies could just as well help with stage productions to show where everyone needs to stand and what to do, or they could try releasing board games featuring playmobil.
