Some of you will remember the problem of the short passing loop on the original "round the pond" layout of the S & B C R Co. As you can see in the photo there was limited space for the loop with the result that only trains with two carriages could be accommodated on it.

Junker Jorg, a Klickywelt friend who has a garden railway came up with this suggestion which works well and, as it involves some reversing and points operation, also adds interest to operating the line as well as allowing three coach trains or three wagons goods trains.

Here a train has pulled into the passing loop:

The Seaport train passes the loop:

and continues on it's way:

The train in the loop now backs up:

so it can exit the loop:

rejoin the main line:

and continue on its way:

Problem solved!
