The chronicles of Mittland Part 03 Time of the wolves

Again and again the dragon soldiers loaded the cannons, again and again they fired with deafening din the pipes. The balls tore large holes into the walls of the fortress. Panic grew up among the defenders. What should they do against this weapon? Nowhere in the fortress the defenders were still safe. Large pieces of rubble from the walls killed the humans. Whirled up dust made it nearly impossible to see still the hand before the eyes.

The forest people ran so fast as never before in their life. When they reached the former knight, they gave to Juras a report about the attack, „ARTRAC uses the dragon's breath. With only twice three weapons they destroy the walls of the fortresses. Their strength of destruction  is enormous. If the attack cannot be stopped, this evening the fortresses will fall. BE'TAK asks for fast support. Only few soldiers guard the pipes and the catapults.“

JURAS thought only a short time about the report. Then he instructed his companions, "EKWUS follow with your riders B'EMAN and his scouts as fast as you can, and disturb the dragon soldiers' attack! Then attack the guardians! We will follow you so fast, as we can. Hurry up, ride like the wind! I wish you much success.“ EKWUS nodded scarcely and hurried to his riders. They sat up fast and galloped afterwards to the forest people.

Then JURAS turned to the others, „my friends, go to your troops! We start! The fight for our liberty has begun! We will run over them, and we will defeat ARTRAC!“ With these words JURAS encouraged the rebels, and they joined in his call of war. „for the liberty! Against ARTRAC!“ Before Numur ran to his warriors, he tore the arm with the combat stick up in the sky. He shouted, „with the ancestors, we will wind up the dragons' breath or we will suffocate!“

I finally caught up again. Such a great and gripping story!!!

IN that shot of the Queen of the Mountain Realm om her throne. What are those dark brown parts you use to fill those connectors with? Also what are the little, almost triangular parts, on both sides of the "throne"?

Chapter X.

EKWUS chased to the forest people with his riders. The branches of the trees whipped them in the face, but they covered untiringly the miles. After somewhat more than one hour they reached BE'TAK and his companions, which expected them already impatiently. BE'TAK had struggled with himself several times to attack the cannons without the other rebels.

[Vauban]

The one-sided fight at the fortress continued in the meantime without reduction. Helplessly the defenders on the barriers had to regard also, how their fortress walls were being destroyed piece around piece. They had to deplore already many victims under the rubble. In the meantime  the bombardment of the catapults had begun also again. At many places small fires burned already, which got the remaining men and women hardly still into the grasp.

ARTRAC's captains began to collect now their troops for the attack. Storm ladders were put on and the soldiers went to the walls. A black sea of soldiers flowed to the damaged walls of the fortress. They wanted to destroy the rest of the fortress. The bombardment of the cannons had reduced strongly NIHRA's bowmen. But the  survivors were so more decided. They held ready their arrows for the moving forward enemies.

At the old ruin the dragon soldiers loaded untiringly the pipes and catapults. They fired shot around shot. Suddenly however the riders of the rebels came out between the trees. Before the first of the guardians could direct their weapons against the aggressors, the hooves of the horses trampled them already down, and they went to soil. Also BE'TAK and his people hurried to the combatants. They supported the riders with their weapons. A short, violent fight was inflamed, which the rebels could decide for their party.

After their victory EKWUS hurried to BE'TAK. „How can we destroy these killing maschines?“ The rebel wanted to know from BE'TAC. „Destroying? No,  I had a better idea. We know by our observation, how they are to be used. The breath of the dragon will devour his own soldiers.“ Without hesitating BE'TAK ordered his people to the cannons. „ B'RAM, B'ESAL to the first weapon… “EKWUS accepted  the decision of the forest man without opposition. Then the warrior made his people to secure the area of the ruin.
