I'm pleased to become a member of Playmofriends---I've been reading some of your posts and viewing the photo albums for awhile, and it's fun to now be a real member!
I started acquiring Playmobil after I saw the Santa feeding the animals in the woods Advent calendar, and thought it was so neat that I bought it. The nativity scene followed, and then I sort-of fell into Playmobil! I ordered the Grande Mansion and Noah's Ark from a discontinued Playmobil store in Canada (I'm in the United States), and began to collect a varied group of sets and characters---fairies, pirates, knights, children, adults, animals, houses . . . and the list goes on. i was very impressed with some of the customizations that many of you have done---I first noticed Emma Jane's creations, and thought they were fantastic, and then found all the enormous set-ups that people created for various European toy fairs.
I am very fond of creating scenes and photographing them, and love to use Playmobil to illustrate stories. The movies and stories that I've found here look both fun to make and quite time-consuming, and I've loved the artistry of the work. I have also enjoyed finding answers to odd questions about Playmobil that I've googled around for, and almost always have been directed to a Playmofriends link. So, those are the reasons I am pleased to find fellow Playmobil fans, and I'm looking forward to being a member of this site!
I had fun ordering and altering the sails of a Playmobil sailboat---it reminded me of Max in the story "Where the Wild Things Are"---and I had fun creating my avatar this afternoon
