Hello all
what a great year this has been for the greek playmobil fans. With the great help of Mrs Effraimidi a dream has come true and we get DS orders now . Already Wolf Knight ( and i am sure Grangel also ) has placed a massive order and i will be putting mine also. Also Playmobil hellas is featuring our creations in their facebook web site and the first was Giorginettos' medieval set up progress. Playmobil only a few days ago asked us to get together and put a diorama in one of the secure displays for their funpark . we need to work on this and start working soon as August is a month most of us will be away, I plan to be anayways. So we need to come together agree the theme, agree who will bring what and then the actual display set up . Please note that I am seeing Mrs Effraimidi in the next few days to give her a battle of fine champagne as a token of our thanks for the DS service which he tried hard to get for us as far as i know. I shall tell her of our next meeting then and give her some info as to how we shall organise this. If somebody else wants to be the contact person with playmobil lets discuss this in our meeting , i have no problem to continue the contact with them ( my house is only 10min from their office/ funpark after all ) but only if everyone agrees to it , we are the land of democracy here after all
I propose we meet on May 28th, either at the Playmobil Hellas Funpark OR we can have our meeting at Corinth City where you can all visit my den first see my work in progress ( i doubt it will be finished
) and then we can have our meeting at a very good friend of mine's coffee place ( on the same road where my house and den is there - only 5min walk ) and perhaps if we all feel like it have some food also, Corinth is famous for its souvlaki !!!! - and i know all the right places there for food and coffee !!!
.... Either way i think end of May is a good time for our meeting.
Proposed Agenda
(1) Updates from all on DS orders and Playmobil Hellas webite host of collector's pictures
(2) Possible trading between members ( just thought of it )
(3) Selection of person to contact playmobil regarding the diorama and other issues - so far i have taken the liberty abd its been me for the DS and the diorama / website pictures hosting etc
(3) Selection of Theme for the September Diorama for Playmobil Greece ( Critical !!!)
(4) Agree IN detail who will bring what , exact items , quantities
(5) Agree a date for our next meeting where we will discuss ideas, proposed set up and then set it up ( it will have to be in July i propose)- before this meeting i will talk to mrs Effraimidi to arrange possible dates we ca do this meeting at their premised and then the actual setting up on their secure display enclosure at their warehouse which is 5min from playmobil greece funpark at Kiffisia. This meeting will have to start very early i think on that day and allow no less that 8 hours to set it all up !!!
Any additions/ suggestions etc etc lets discuss them here. I am really really pleased how things are progressing in greece and i hope we make a more organized greek club with more interactions with playmobil ,( all this to be discussed i suggest after the september diorama) which i think should be our goal for 2012 . I awaiting for the feedabck especailly of those who will participate , if we have this meeting in Athens, we can always have another date for the greek members to visit my den !!!!!!
I really really look forward to our display at Playmobil funpark and if needed i will buy rare/missing sets for it , i cant think of a better excuse to buy them after all !!!
