Easy interior carriage lighting
« on: March 15, 2011, 00:23:57 »
I wanted interior lighting without rewiring my passenger cars.  Its easy to do with cheap parts.  The two main parts are led light and a 3v cr2032 lithium battery.  The LED leads can be taped to the battery. In my pictures I used a neodymium magnet to attach the light to the roof.   In the First picture 1. neodymium magnet 2. battery 3v cr2032 3. 10mm LED white diffused.  The last picture not really good I'm going to try to get a picture of the passenger car outside.

Thas for sharing this very creative idea!

One question, does he light function by just attaching it on the battery?

That is a brilliant idea, with possible application in all sorts of places besides trains. I will definitely have to try it out.

yes the led leads just have to be touching the positive and negative sides of the battery.  The leads on the led are different lengths.  The longer lead goes the positive and the shorter goes to the negative.

Great idea and quite simple making it even better. From the picture it looks like it is quite effective and realistic
