You're right Gordon.  However, it does show just how much of a large layout is taken up with the trains and how the playmobil becomes secondary.

I was quite astounded at the size of the Playmobil trains when I actually had one in my hands (I've got two 4018s, one motorless, and the 4019 carriage and various trucks - goods van, cattle truck, dropside x 2, tanker x2) - they are impressive!

I agree with you there!  If I had known how impressively massive they are, I would have bought the 4054 Western Locomotive when it was new in the shops - however, I grew up with HO scale and thought the larger scales would take up too much room.  I see now that not only do they take up a lot of room, they can also cost a pretty penny.  I just can't imagine the amounts of money the guys throw into their massive garden railways using LGB trains and Pola buildings ...

People think Playmobil is expensive, but when you compare a building from Playmobil to one of these, Playmobil is a bargain.

yes, indeed. Playmobil is made to be a good quality yet affordable toy for children. So it makes it affordable to set up massive dioramas after only a few years of collecting. One more reason to love it.
