Fellow Ship Collectors/Fans Roll Call Here!
« on: November 18, 2010, 02:55:56 »
Just trying to see get an accurate count of mine fellow pirates, navalmen/women, and other would-be-seafarer fans here who actively collect playmobil ships.  Post here, and name your favourite ship (custom or other) or favourite nautical theme (pirate, british navy, french, roman, egyption, viking, modern, etc....).  Maybe even a pic of your most favourite Playmobil Sea Vessel.

Off the top of my head, I can only name MacGuyver, DeadEyeDick (where's he been lately?), Hadoque, and WOT.  I think Ms Elaine mentioned sailing her schooner and losing a crew member.  Andy has his custom RC Gunship.  And Ms. Emma recently did the Panther.  Sorry if I missed anyone off the top of my head.

Playmoship fans, ROLL CALL!   :captain:

Oh, and my favourite Playmoship to date of course is the 3286/3940

Ahoy, Pirates, Hoist the Colours!

Aargh, I be one, too laddy.

I woudn't say I have a singular favourite, though.  I really do love all the boats they have done (I prefer sail power, over any modern ones, though).

I could say great things about all of them - but I can also lament the fact they have not come out with a remote control kit, the feeble assembly of the Egyptian ship that keeps falling apart when it is picked up, no working rudders and the fact they should all be bigger!  Although the 4444 is probably the best sized of the lot they have ever made.

If that is a boat for two crew members, and if they scaled it up in proportion to one of their "large" pirate ships, then we would really see something neat!!!

Wolf Knight, I am envious of your awesome collection!  We must have a fleet battle one of these days, though if including your ten additional ships in storage, I think I am outnumbered!  Hmmm, maybe I'll just stick to sailing under your colours and give you, say, 10% of me plunder?  The flagship of my fleet of course will be my converted 3286 Black Pearl which now sports 20 guns.  So far the only navy ship I have is a converted 3050 style ship, which only sports 6 guns so far.  I have a 4290 that I'm trying to figure out if I will convert to a privateer ship, or perhaps another naval ship.  And I have a non-playmo black pearl ship by Zizzle that I intend to convert into the HMS Victory.  My biggest setback is acquiring all the needed cannons (and the cost.)  It will have 30 guns, which is about US$150 if I buy the playmobil cannons.  I am happy though, as I recently purchased 14 british naval soldiers (including 2 new admirals) for $17, which I will use to crew whatever my next navy ship custom will be.  I can't wait!

Too bad you're not local.  We could do a fleet sail.

With you Black Pearl being your flagship, I'll give you more than 10% !!! I am planing on a naval battle but I think it will be some time before I actually sit down and organise it...and the 3286/3940 will be my flagship...

I also have a secter project  :shhhh: ....been planning for more than a year now but I am stuck with various....technicalities...Hopefully some day....

@ Richard: A most interesting story! What's the iguana's name?

Me too, Me too!

I only have a 3286/3940 and a couple of 4444/5901 boats on hand.

I usually make larger Playmo ships from scratch, using plywood.

>:( i confess i am a little offended bp2006.
:( you totally forgot to mention me in your list - what a shame.
:'( how could you do that.
i even started a thread about all the pirate ships playmobil ever made - http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=4639.0.

;) i was just kidding, of course.

 like you i love my 3286/3940 ship.
.. and sometimes i am not sure of what is actually my preferred one.
 so, today, i am declaring the primal 3550 as my favourite.
it was the first one.
i still miss a few (the antex 13750, the 5575 tender, the 5869 schooner) but i can say that they all have their charms.
