Rattan shields array (Boxer Wars)
« on: November 16, 2010, 04:21:23 »
The rattan shield allows the boxer to curl up underneath, just like an armadillo, and roll quickly towards the cavalryman. When reaching the horses, he can start to attack by using the broadsword to chop the horses legs from under the shield
...before he gets a horseshoe mark on his forehead

the array pattern for defence or offence depended on the number of soldiers involved...but still no match for Roman's shield formations  :)

Cheng, your colorful painting of the original Playmobil shield of the 4595 Sultan's Guard is absolutely beautiful !!!

It makes a perfect rattan shield for your Boxers.

I love also what you've done with the shields. Is it metallic paint?

thanks everyone!!

@ Richard, you know I'm quite against free-hand painting for large areas(wont look factory-finished), so I did consider this for years...

Im a big fan of your shoes Cheng!
I love also what you've done with the shields. Is it metallic paint?

the whites are UV-quality white PVC stickers while the red and green are CD markers(I wanted the 'rattan' to still show through the transparent CD ink (like the real thinly-handpainted shields)...my Tamiya marker pens would have been too thick  :P
