Taiping Veterans (1951-1971)
« on: November 10, 2010, 02:36:10 »
The Taiping Rebellion was led by a Christian convert named Hong Xiuquan. He espoused many non-mainstream Christian views, including the view that he was the younger brother of Jesus Christ!

During the mid-19th century there was a great deal of anti-Qing sentiment, stemming from a number of massive Qing military defeats, and general resentment by the Han majority at being ruled over by a Manchu minority

(my inspiration was this picture from Sébastien COELS's collection)

thanks for the encouragement WOT...
I wanted to use those bare feet (from beach klikcies)
and also wanted to make a naked torso Taiping rebel getting ready for his plaited head chopped off by an executioner...I'm getting too violent for playmofriends  >:D so many ideas from all those websites but so little time  :P

Cheng, you continue to create more and more of your masterpieces!

It seems that the time has come, Cheng, for you to have your own "gallery" to exhibit your beautiful Asian customs in one place.

If you agree, we can do that in one of several places:
1. You could use the Playmofriends "Photo Album" to display your photos
2. You could post all of them in one place at the Garden Wargaming - Playclicks Forum
3. We could set up a special exhibition section at the Garden Wargaming website

Wonderful customs as ever, cheng, and thank you, too, for the background information you always include.

Cheng Im always amazed by your technic! Do you paint the shoes by hand? They are soooo neat! What did you use for the red string!
They really look playmo!
Congrats!

thanks my (playmo)friends!!
Dear Richard,
I think maybe later, back in our more serious gardenwargaming, organised into periods and armies  ;)

....Do you paint the shoes by hand? ....What did you use for the red string!

you give me too much credit...cant paint that well  :-[ (I sprayed the shoes)
those are not strings but are urethane (not as stretchy as rubber but shinier)
(the only strings I allow are those playmobil ones :P because I still prefer washing under a running tap without having to take apart these klickies)
btw the red amulet around his neck is supposed to make him bullet-proof and he has only one chance to test that out
