Help needed
« on: October 07, 2010, 18:53:37 »
I've got some Playmobil goods trucks which need some reconstruction work.  Please could someone post some photos of the couplings so I buy the right bits from DS?  Thank you.

Gordon, click HERE for the "train page" at Heather's PlaymDB and look at 7552, 7554, 7560 and 7561. Hope that helps.

Also, try this page HERE.

If it's an old "goods waggon", you may be able to find some newer part numbers for a comparable train at Heather's site.

Edit: Added another link.

Thanks for the link, Richard.  What I'm trying to do is find the relationship between 7560 and 7561.  I have bought some Playmobil goods trucks which have been "customised"  (hacked about is more accurate) and which I want to restore.  Basically, all that's usable is the body itself, stock van, container, oil tank.  I am planning to buy some chassis from eBay.de but I may need to buy wheels, axle units and couplings from DS, hence the need to know how things go together with the couplings.

Gordon, I am currently in Fort Lauderdale where, unfortunately, I don't have any Playmobil.

However, if you would post some pictures of what you have, I may be able to make some suggestions.

Thank you, Richard.  I will get some photos taken in the next few days, although tomorrow is earmarked for putting up pictures and hedge cutting.

Picture hanging and hedge cutting ... Gordon for some reason that doesn't sound like a lot of fun ...  ;)

Looking forward to seeing your pictures when you have some time.

Gordon, is this you giving in to the feeling that you need to get a train set? (for relaxation after all the hedge cutting ) - it didn't take you long to give in!  ;D

I'm just about to send off a cheque for a train set here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=120626545939&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

It was a bit of an impulse purchase as it wasn't one of the sets I was watching.  I have my eyes on one or two other bits as well.

Next problem - how to smuggle    it in past Diane?

You could tell her it's for the new garden - a moving garden ornament
I'm having that problem too - Sandy has finished at the museum for the season and I have him here at home until next April.
An almost complete 5301 house arrived today (he thinks I'm going to find the missing parts, furnish it and sell it on!  :o )
I'll have to start taking the dog for a walk when the post van is due - with an extra large doggy bag!!

Are we going to see photos of the new train when it is up and running?

Here's an idea.  When stuff arrives for me, I say it's to send on to you.  When stuff arrives for you, you say it's to send on to me!  Cunning, eh?

Yes, I'll post photos and some history on the stuff I already have.
