I would also tell you the same face-to-face using the exact same wording. My comment is neither harsh nor offending. Maybe you have noticed the fact that I did like the rest of the custom(s) - it's only the collar that looks a bit awkward. I even mentioned that I believe Emma has the capability to make it better. Of course, if she doesn't want to: That's her decision.
I can only speak for myself - and to me, it (the collar) doesn't look good on this Napoleon, not appealing judging by my senses and not even resembling to the Napoleon I have in my mind.

Let me tell you one more thing: I am the toughest critic for my own work and I always appreciate criticism if it can help improve anything. Of course, I do not always agree but I always reassess things people say (or write).

  Hi everyone Gosh what a fuss I've caused 

Thanks all for your support I've been reading all this and I admit having a bit of a laugh 

I don't mind the criticism good or bad of any of my work.

I don't want to spoil the party - but did anybody of you notice that Napoleon's coat seems to be either too big or is somewhat misplaced...? It definitely needs some more work.

The rest is very good indeed.

So why didn't you fix the coat a little bit better? You spent all your time creating a nice custom and (in my eyes) you ruined Napoleon by this outfit. I see a great potential in your work but apparently several others here in this forum are willing to accept a lower level of your creativity.

Yes I can see what your saying I did him with his collar turned up so it does look a big but as it a caricature of Napoleon and in no way meant to look 100% accurate I wasn't that bothered.

As to the picture I modled him off of, I admit it was Arthur Lowe dressed as Napoleon in an episode of Dad's Army I was watching when I decided to do up the klicky, and if you've seen him the collar does come up around his ears - the problem with being a short fat actor 

So I wasn't offended in any way with what you said. I think maybe it was the tone of some of your other comments to other members that might have caused more fuss than what you said to me.

btw, I'm only joking when I say this, but "isn't your Napoleon too tall?"  lol.  Maybe someone can do Napoleon using a playmokiddie, but keep your Josephine the same, haha!

I love both versions and didn't see anything wrong with the first version.  I believe customization is an art (in which I have absolutely no talent), and being such, artistic license is acceptable.

I too like both versions.  In fact they inspired me to try to make
a "coat of many colors" for a Biblical Joseph figure my wife is going
to use teaching her first grade class.  She is going to use Playmobil figures
and some Egyptian structures made from plywood to act out the story.

Great Napoleon & Josephine!!.....maybe Admiral Lord Nelson is next?
