Right... show me a pic including this tremendous collar way over the ear-line and I believe you.
Nope. Couldn’t find one.
But if you can do better, by all means, do so.
If I’m jealous, you did SOMETHING right. Keep it up. :D

Great job EmmaJ. Could you maybe show the picture from which you worked?

In this pic the collar is turned down but would clearly be over the ear-line when it was turned up:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/france/5293757/Napoleon-Bonaparte-the-romantic-novelist.html

Just because the cloak has a large collar doesn't mean he actually wore it folded up. Anyway, I also attached some pics, but nothing comes close to the Napoleon displayed in this thread.

Nope. Couldn’t find one.
But if you can do better, by all means, do so.

If you are referring to the "making of": no, I might not be able to do it better, I only wanted to state that I feel that it could be done a bit better by Emma (and she has the gift to do so...). But if criticism is not desired in this forum, I will rather not post any comments in the future. I am always happy when people are being honest and help me improve the quality of my work.

of course honesty is always appreciated, sure, but if you consider that Emma has captured the style of Napoleon very accurate and that the collar isn't any larger than in you first two pictures, than i would say that the only thing wrong in Emma's custom is the fact that Napoleon has no neck!!
That explains the collar looking too big, but then again..... klickies have no necks! What can you do.

I believe (from my point of view) that it sounded a little harsh,
And that is why people responded to it so negatively.

I know that you didn't mean to make it sound harsh, (I hope. ;) )
But as it has been stated many times before in the forum,
We are typing replies, not saying them.
So things may seem to come out differently then they might had, had we been speaking.

I think Warrior of Toys has identified the problem, hauden_klaus's comment did read rather harsh, although I'm sure, too, he didn't mean it to.  Equally, I think Andy R's comment here:

http://www.playmofriends.com/forum/index.php?topic=5779.msg84318#msg84318

came across more severely than he meant it to.

As Warrior of Toys says, it's the old problem of writing things down rather than being able to speak face to face.

And here I was, being a great fan of her work, ready to rush to Emma's defense, but I will refrain.

Playmofire, you are a good diplomat.

Emma, I think they look great!   :wow:
