Query re-3329x Knight + Squires
« on: September 02, 2010, 13:55:50 »
Today I received this set I got from Ebay and I would like to check whether it is complete/original. I have to questions, and would greatly appreciate it if owners of this set could answer:

1) the saddle, should it be old style, cause mine is the same style as the ones found in the recent 3-1 viking/knight/king set.

2) the arrows in the quiver - should they be of the '3 arrows joined together at the tips' kind, because mine were three loose arrows, one of which doesn't even look like a proper PM arrow.

The rest is fine, apart from the sword: its shine is showing its age, unfortunately, but all in all I'm quite pleased with this set: one of the best as far as I'm concerned.

Hi Bolingbroke,

A little searching on PlaymoDB lead me here:

Oh thanks, that's handy. No, the saddle is not an original then, but it's not problem because i have plenty of those. Same goes for the arrows. Let me check the other two sets I received now.

How do you mean? Isn't it a lovely set? I also got the 'training knights' set and the old 'catapult knights' one - the latter, all that is missing is two mugs and one boulder, while the former seems to be complete altough I am not sure whether the correct lance should be the one supplied (brown, no hand guard) or one of those other ones with the hand guard as a separate piece. And lastly, I got a bunch of 4666 knights to be used for customising some of the new knights (i hope the yellow matches).

Oh I mean it ina a good sense!! grangel has a few hundreds of them, Giorginetto builds his cavalry out of them, and myself...well I'd like to use around 50 for one of my projects....

The 4666 is indeed a good sourse for customisation....but after a while you are left with loads of silver crowns and yellow legs...

Actually it's the legs I will be needing the most: most of the new knights have a yellow upper body + grey legs. I want to replace the yellow 'tunic' legs from the 4666 with the ugly grey legs of the new klickies - see? The armour, I mostly use it for my conquistador/spanish troops sets. The crowns, you're right - but you can't have everything can you?  :)

No we can't...unfortunatelly...
I would be very interested to see with what torsos will you mix the yellow legs....Its a colour not after my taste so my 20 or so yellow legs are sitting around waiting for the moment I will decide to customise a group based on this knight:5788 - Eagle Knight on Horseback

I will use the torso and arms and the rest from the new knights, as long as the yellow matches: most of them, the good ones, are yellow, aren't they?

It is a great set this one, often over looked because a lot of people think it is just another 3669 Knight with squires set.

The figures should be without boots and shoes and have no print on the back, often 3669 figures get put into this set due to sellers lack of knowledge.

I'm pleased you found the scan very useful.
