Great piece of history indeed Tiermann and Gordon!!! Thank you for clearing out these questions!

Damo, look at the lights on the windshield. Actual modet t has them rectangular just like the playmobil car...just a thought, not that it makes it more ford than rolls.... ;)

I'm afraid it's a Rolls Royce for me 0)

I just had a thought, you know Playmobil's usual them for vehicles is based German German German, it isn't a German car possibly?

You may well be right, Damo, or it could  be an American Lafrance:

It's a generic design, and have you notoced that the Mercedes in your photo has right hand drive?

I suppose Playmobil designed it with a combination of features - so it can be any car you want it to be depending on where you are in the world :cloud9:

No, I didn't notice it was right hand drive :eh?:

I think we can conclude that, based on early 1900's car design, its not easy to asses which of all the above cars the playmobil one is designed after... 8} 8} 8} 8} 8} 8} 8}

Tell you what though, I have a friend who is a classic car collector, real ones... He has a silver spirit...she is a beauty!!!!
