New Police officer ... ?
« on: June 16, 2010, 19:02:42 »
I had acquired a Playpeople Bobby - that is ... the helmet. And a female police-officer to go with it.
For a long while I had it like that on display. But today I remembered I had got a police-officer in a large lot that might go with it.
What do you think ?

It does look good!! Good work Count!!
Nevertheless, at a second glance, the bobby hat is dark blue whereas the suit is black...there is a noticable contrast there...

For the less clear sighted of us, it looks fine, Mark.

Very nice Count Bogro

takes me back to my days as a policeman in Glasgow. By the way it is very common for British police uniforms to be a mixture of dark blue and black. A lot of custodian helmets ( the bobby helmet) are still deep blue, whereas the trousers, tie and epalettes will be black. When i worked in Glasgow, we were issued two Nato style pullovers that were dark blue and everything else was black apart from my epalettes (shoulder boards).  Traditionally the British police colour is dark blue or midnight blue, but stores and clothing suppliers issued clothing in black.

That's nice to know. So my modernisation os actually spot on (except for the badge on the sleeve).

And Playmo1989 the helmet is, strictly speaking not Playmobil. It was produced by Playmopeople in the UK. They produced Playmobil in license.

I'm sorry Playmo1989 - I don't have any images.
As for the helmet - the plastic is entirely in that dark blue color - as is the klicky that came with it.
As far as I know that color plastic was only used by Playpeople for those Police officers.
