Viking with Scale armor print on body & legs
« on: June 07, 2010, 19:21:43 »

Does anybody know what set might have contained this handsome fellow?

I found him amongst my Vikings so he is dressed appropriately, but I couldn't find the actual figure on Playmodb. It is possible he has been customised, but I searched only for the red cuff boots with printed legs and found nothing.

The body appears as part of 30 00 1202 Dragon Rider from set 3327, but the legs on that figure are different.

Martin you have it right!!

This is a custom figure and the klicky that was used is indeed the dragon rider!!!  I have two of these sets and looking at them right now! The picture on playmo DB must be from a reissue or another version!!

After that it is easy to find all the accessories by going through the viking sets!!!

By custom I meant his hair/face/arms may not be original. Obviously the legs have to come from somewhere, and as it's not the dragon rider, then where?

That is my point Martin! The legs are indeed from the dragon rider! The whole klicky is the original dragon rider!!

Wow, this is a revelation.  The photo at 30 00 1202 - Dragon rider is a screen-grab from the 3-D view of the set at playmobil.de, which I've noticed in the past is not always exactly as the set is produced. I've uploaded a better crop from the instructions, but if someone could make me a portrait with no accessories and a plain background, I could illustrate clearly the patterns on his clothes, and get him described properly. Thanks for bringing it up!

@WK Aha, I'm with you now! I didn't customise his hair (at least I don't recall doing so) so he must've come to me that way via eBay.

@Heather - interesting that the box pictures didn't match the end product!

Not the boxes, but the fancy 360-degree view on the website, like this one: http://download.playmobil.com/3D_Scenes/DE/4838.htm - not the first time it's caused confusion, which is why I'm really happy to get "live" portraits. Fortunately, errors in anything - website, plans, or box - are very rare.
