I need help with making a "L" Steck roof

  hi I was looking at Macgayver's pictures from Utrecht and I noticed that some one has built a medieval house in a "U" shape. It's a beautiful job and I was hoping that someone could please put up some how to pictures about altering the roof.
I've had a go myself but I need help with the join - was it made from another roof joint cut at an angle?

This is my roof.

Ahh yes that's the one but is it melted together? Glued and pasted over with a resin or is it a moulded piece?
The other one I had seen has a roof connector running down the join and I was wondering how it was done.

No problem! Glad i could help 

Hmmm judging from the pics I'd say he has done a lot of cutting, gluing and paste over...and then there is the posibility that he used this cutted, glued and pasted over piece to make a mould....Just guessing though...

Is the roof connector on the left hand section getting under the small tile section on the right hand section with the result that the right hand section is slightly raised?

Some detailed photos of the two sections of roof would help analyse the problem because overall, apart from the mismatch where the two ridges meet, everything seems OK.

Michael created a mould for this roof piece and made this special part for himself... 
...I guess this would be something for the "what do we want to have" part lists for steck fans, wouldn't it? 

But before making the mould he for sure constucted this piece by hand so macgayver will have good suggestions anyway.

As Socrates allready mentioned

I made a masterpiece (wich I still have) and then casted a form

I can only suggest , take your time for cutting  , be patient , better cut five times a little bit then one time too much


The corners in Gassy's medieval town were mine ,traded some stuff with him
Those roofcorners were resincasts and immediately coloured

Sadly the form got broken quickly and I didn't have time , money , and lust to make another mould yet

Hi Mac,
thanks for the tips, I shall just have to practise more on the cutting. I haven't got the equipment or know-how to make my own cast, I've only just started heating items to bend them!

Oh yes I'd love that on the want list, with a medieval window wall!

First of all let me say impressive work !!!! Secondly yeap thats one piece we could do with along with some others ( please see my new thread about how to create a 4 way connector.... i need some help if anyone has done this people )

Steck for ever
