Zoo 52 - Slowly starting up
« on: May 19, 2010, 01:16:52 »
So me and my wife are working on making a Zoo. We have made some small starts over the last three years but now we are really getting going.

On of the things that we do have though is the entrance I will shoot some pictures next week. But I thought I start this now because I am a master at procrastinating!

A couple of years ago we managed to buy at 50% of a lot of system X, 2 Cafe (3245), Supermarket (3200) and the Large City House (3988) We have combined those four boxes into a very nice Zoo entrance including a office space, gift shop, information services, two cash desks (from 4402) and a food outlet.

As building a Zoo housing all Plamobil Animals is quite a task we have a hard time wrapping our heads arounf the project and finding a starting place...well apart from the entrance! But we are going for it and all advice is welcome.

-Gis

PS Managed to get another Large City House on E=bay as well as a second Big Zoo (3240) so we're going to have lots of fun building with System X

Thanks a lot for the tip Playmofire. Have had this site bookmarked already. It's a great tool!

I am really hoping to get some time for snapshots...but We will be gone for the weekend. I'm quite anxious to post pics. I guess I'll have to sacrifice sleep again.

I would suggest working at it like this...

You have the entrence,
Now make the first exibit the tourists will see.
After that go for the second and so on... That is how I like to do things.

Another way I like doing things is getting the biggest exibit finished,
And surround it with all the smaller little exibits over time.

I would think the second one sounds best for this type of project.
Steck is BACK! <:>

Thanks a lot for the tip WoT. Our initial plan was to do the first. However at the moment just getting started is already something. I think we will just focus on building two exibits and build those up and see from there!

My wife has a hard time grasping the whole project so starting with something she likes to work on most should help IMO!

That sounds like a good idea Gis, you might also think of setting an exit or some other place holder to establish the outside perimeter of the zoo so you don't expand in too carefree a fashion.

You know, it just struck me...there is no big zoo, if any, in my country...only wildlife reserves....so i'll be visiting your zoo regularly Gis!!! :) :) :)
