I thought I'd tack onto this thread as a new member since my story is very similar to Dereck's. . . I live in Florida (Orlando), mid- to late twenties, and I just recently got into Playmobil toys.  I had heard of them long ago, but upon closer inspection I was stunned at the breadth of themes and characters and accessories in this line.  A shame I didn't get to see the Playmobil store that used to be in Orlando, but it's probably better for my wallet that way.  I look forward to customizing some figures, and I've already learned a lot from this board as a guest and from the PlaymoDB.

A big welcome to PlaymoFriends from the warm and sunny United States Virgin Islands (America's Paradise)!

As I told Dereck, I'm originally from Fort Lauderdale. From what he said about being from the NE part of Florida, he must be from around the Jacksonvile/St.Augustine area. Which as you know, is a long way from Orlando.

BTW, regarding the Orlando "Funpark", you really didn't miss much. It was really a "Funstore" in the Florida Mall. However, they did carry a complete line of Playmobil sets and Add-Ons.

The North Palm Beach "Funpark" is a bit bigger and worth the trip a couple of times a year. Especially, if you give them a call to find out when they're having their 25% off sales ... ;)

It is really better to start your own new welcome thread, because we expect one per person and your one got lost.

I would suggest you cut and paste your introduction into a new thread, or maybe a moderator could remove these last three posts into a new thread. Then you'll find you get a dozen or more welcomes rather than just the one!
