My name is Elric
« on: January 14, 2010, 01:21:35 »
Hello all, I'm Elric.  I come from South Carolina and happy to be here.  Known about Playmobil for a while but just dived in about 6 mos ago.  I like all the war themes but knights is what I like the most.  Looking forward to learning more about playmobil and everyone else.  BTW  I'm 36 married with 2 beautiful children.  I'm collecting for me, I mean them.

Welcome Elric!

Not sure Playmo would like to hear them called War Themes, but I know what you mean.

The "Knights" theme used to be a lot broader and we called it Medieval, but now there's almost nothing but men wielding swords, bows and axes. We complain a lot here, because people who like to build a little world need more than just that, but I guess it's what sells.

The (currently almost non-existant) Western theme and the Pirates theme are a little broader in their scope, allowing various scenarios to be played out with the original figures, but of course shooting and fighting is in there too.

cheers,  Martin

Welcome Elric!

It's good you can talk about your children as an "excuse". I had to come out all on my own when I told my family and friends that I was collecting Playmobil. hehehe. Fortunately, the news was well received. ;)

Enjoy!

Hi Elric

Welcome to PlaymoFriends from Sonoma County California. I too started to collect at the same time I had kids. The kid excuse worked for quite a while but now has worn out, use it wisely ;). Good luck with the collection and enjoy the kids.

   welcome aboard
