Hi Everyone

I believe that I have really started a trend on Ebay UK 0) as a few Sellers have been "inspired" by my sets and I fully approve when it is done in a tasteful and genuine way.

The accessories must be carefully chosen to compliment the Victorian Sets and never overshadow them.

Some "clever Cookies" checked the list of products and suppliers from my feedback database and it is sometimes very obvious that they use the same accessorising sources  >:D- mainly Playmo suppliers in Germany and 1/12th accessories suplliers in the UK...

If it can bring the Victorian Theme to a new life and generate interest from the younger generation, why not ? If I am very competitive in my professional life, customizing Victorian Sets is one of my hobbies and will remain as such : a fun thing to do when I can finally sit down and relax with a glass of Merlot, or two

I would like to bring your attention on one inspired and very creative Seller  :wow:- Emma.j - who offers two really fun customized Victorian sets on Ebay UK :

Playmobil Victorian Ladies Boutique Hat & Perfume Shop
Clothes Hat Stall Accessories Perfumes Corner Shops Item number: 200338049681

Playmobil Victorian Museum - Dinosaurs Egyptian Knights Item number: 200338397739

I think both items are gorgeous and very faithful to the Playmo Theme and the Museum mixes the Egyptian and Zoo Themes in such a fun way !!!

Finally I would like to share with you an item from the same Seller with which I fell in love when it was listed and thought that the originality of it would make it a must have item, hence quite expensive. And believe it or not, it only reached one bid and a second - mine - for a final price of 26.00 pounds :o which only covers either the cost of the accessories or the characters. The windmill - though not Playmobil - is the cutest thing I have seen in years. When one sees a very average item reaching silly prices and such a littel gem that never took off, one really wonders. I am genuinely over the moon with this purchase :

Absolutely stunning! :wow: :wow: :wow:

It's hard to choose, but I think I prefer the museum set-up over the perfume/boutique shop - mainly because of the wonderful originality of the idea and clever use of items from non-Victorian sets. It all flows together beautifully, almost as though it was an actual set designed by Playmobil.

The windmill you bought from emma.j is equally gorgeous!

I don't understand how you obtained it so cheaply.  :o Was it ending at a time where traffic was low on the site? I can't imagine that even exorbitantly high postage and packing costs would have deterred bidders from this beautiful offering. Quite puzzled about that. :eh?:

This seller is definitely one to watch. Thanks for sharing her creations with us, Karim! :)

Hello Sylvia

This lovely windmill auction ended mid-afternoon and I put a bid for 30.00 pounds for fun as I thought there would be a last minute interest and rush and was really surprised to see I won the item when checking my Ebay account in the evening  :).

The shipping costs are only 6.00 pounds which is very reasonable :yup: and by all means this item should have generated more interest and higher bids !!! I am equally puzzled  8}that such a gem showing for days has not attracted the eye of more bidders...

I love the use of Playmobil "wallpaper" in the Museum as it has the flavour of certain cartoons and is so much fun !!!

Karim ;)

The windmill is from silvanian families, I have been looking for one to modify for my playmobil town and they normally don't go this cheap without the PLM! I would change the Windcatchers with PLM pirateship parts, because the don't look so good.

Hello Karim,

You know what they say about imitation being the sincerest form of flattery and as you say if it will fan the Victorian flames so much the better. I really enjoyed your links and like Sylvia I particularly enjoyed the museum and the way the themes were combined so nicely.

Your windmill bakery is a beautiful prize! I almost feel sorry for emma as she will probably not cover costs. Thank you for showing us these treasures.

Thank you, Karim, for sharing these beautiful photos.

It seems that almost singlehandedly you have led the way for new interest in the most wonderful theme ever created by Playmobil! (In my humble opinion, of course.) ...  :klickywink:

All the best,
Richard
