Train Talk
« on: January 25, 2009, 15:12:51 »
Since the train forum is so quiet lately, I have decided to start a new topic. My collection has grown considerably since I joined here.

This is my first "custom". It is a combination of two sets. Namely the base of set 4126 freight car and the container from set 4447. The only difficult thing was taking out those small hinges from the base.

another shot

Looks great! Do you have any shots of the entire train? or your layout?

I haven't posted in awhile due to the busy holiday season, and now I'm playing catch up at work... I am currently building a fairly large Playmobil city with the Steck parts that I have. I have decided to run a Faller E-Train around and through it. I'll post some pics of it when I get it to a presentable point.

I'd like to see more of your collection if you have any pics handy :-)
What's the point of going, if you can't get there on a train?

You ask we make! (actually they were already made yesterday.
I'll try to make some full layout pictures, if we have some sunshine.

You always see a lot of lay-outs where ther are no people in the train. I take special pride in having early 20 century people in my train.

My custom traindriver still needs a good hat!

If anybody has some spare driving rods for this locomotive please PM me!

I want the same hat that gloobey's avatar is wearing or at least on that looks like that!

Are the driving rods you have red or are they grey? I'll be needing red ones.

Great pix, thanks!  I really like the looks of your engineer, is that a chimney sweep torso? I also like the fact your train is populated.

Nice pics! Thanks for posting some more. I think I also have some spare side rods, but they too are probably grey...

It looks like you have some older Steck building parts in the background there. Is that the Pottery shop I see? I love the older sets because they come with a greater variety of parts.

Keep up the good work :-)

Yes that is the potteryshop, and the old buildings are very nice indeed. I love to own the museum ;D

I got the pottery very cheap because it had this ridiculous photo on the ebay auction:

It was a bit of a gamble, because I couldn't be certain that the walls would be yellow. It is sad that the majority of steck is no longer being made and that no new parts are being made.
