Howdy all.
It's nice to be among Playmofriends.
My name is Jamie, you can call me Jamie Jo.

I am mother of Emma Jo, a 6 year old little girl that I have totally brainwashed into loving Playmobil too.

Not a holiday or birthday goes by that doesn't include some blue boxes for me....errrm, I mean her.

My sweet husband does his best to put up with my compulsive need to buy more plastic people.

We live in Missouri, way out in the country, about 30 minutes east of the Kansas City area. I have cows and lots of hay for neighbors. We are those weirdo homeschooling people you hear about. We are the kind of folks that happily march to our own drummers.
I have known of Playmobil since I was a little kid and a playmate stabbed me in the side with a little silver knights sword.

I became obsessed with the Victorian line when I saw it in a store at the mall as a teenager. I swiped a catalog and daydreamed about having everything I saw. At that time, there was no way in heck my parents would have let me collect these toys. They were relieved that I had just grown out of G.I. Joe's and comicbooks. But once a collector, always a collector..... I am sure there is an entry about it in the DSM4.

I remembered my Playmo longings when I was shopping at the first newly opened Target in our area with my newborn daughter in 2002. I saw the Nativity Set and it was like kismet.

I attempted at first to follow restrictive collecting guidelines....like no modern themes....until I fell in love with the motorcycles sets and the police sets and the construction line and......you see where I am going.

So now I pretty much collect everything that tickles my fancy. Which is dern near everything I see.
The ultimate plan is to build the new house that I designed that has a Playmoville room that allows me to set everything up at once in a configuration vaguely reminiscent of the layout of Disney's Magic Kingdom. A central princess castle, Adventureland to the left with pirates rounding the corner into a Frontierland complete with all sorts of cowboys and indians, with a haunted mansion in between it and Fantasyland which is behind the castle, keep going round past the circus/fair and on into the modern and futuristic tomorrowland all surrounded by an old time train, maybe make an ode to Mainstreet.........yadda yadda yadda. SO as you might guess, one of the other deeply held obsessions is Disneyworld. Meshing WDW and Playmo in my own private tiny world will be a dream come true to say the least.
Alright, enough of me already. I am longwinded......get used to it.

Feel free to check out my Myspace page if you feel the strange urge to know more about me.
http://www.myspace.com/jahme88 Thanks to Martin Milner and Sir Turk for encouraging me to join ya'll here. I look forward to making new friends and expanding the connections I have already made in the Playmo collectors community.
