Thank you. Aleon, for sharing your beautiful Malone (Javier) customs with us.

I'm sure that I'm not alone in wishing that Playmobil would produce some of Malone's great historical accessories.

Thanks again and all the best,
Richard

Thank you Aleon for sharing those photos with us, fantastic work! He is a real craftsman, no a real artist!

So Aleon, if he is an friend of you, maybe you can help me to get some further information about Malone's great work:

What I understood so far is that items a duplicated by casting; this part I understand (although my casts does not look like that perfect, but anyway I understand the procedure).
But making a (good) mould needs a master. As many if his items have such regular shapes and ornaments I'm wondering, if he is doing his master pieces (in a double sense) by hand or if he is using some Computer Aided Design tools and e.g. a 3D-printer? Can you give us some more insight into his technique please?

Also what kind of material he is using for his master pieces? (The casts a probably made from resin, that seems clear to me, but what's stuff is the master from?!?)

he makes all master pieces by hand, no 3D design programs.
He is a craftsman. Next month I go to his town to visit and I will make some pics of the plastic materials he uses.

Ops, he finished his moorish serie

he makes all master pieces by hand, no 3D design programs.

:omg: By hand?!? How does he make e.g. those regular structures e.g. on the shields depicted above? Does he use an protractor to get this regular distribution? And how does he ensure that every ornament looks exactly the same? What tools does he use (those must be very tiny modeling tools to produce such fine grained structures)

Does he use cast techniques for making duplicates or is each single piece an original? If so, how does he ensure, that every piece looks like the same as the one before?

He is absolutely a master no doubt :wow: so even more a how-to tutorial of his master pieces would be really really an enrichment here. Do you think it would be possible if he shares some of his knowledge, by text, photo or even better video? (Can I take an apprenticeship at him :D?)

Hello,  I will take pictures when I see him but he use almost all things for make a master and after he uses cast.
for example he use buttons for make shiends.
about the casting, he shows how he works many times in spanish meetings.
here you can see a tutorial:
http://www.playclicks.com/index.php/moldes

but he uses profesional machines because he works in this topic in "real life". he has a good vacuum machine, etc..
