Thank you all for the kind comments!

Creating the scenery and shooting the story was a lot of work, but it was also fun. Plus I learnt all sorts of new things about wartime life on the British home front.
I'm curious--did soldiers on furlough get to carry their guns home with them? It makes sense, with the fear of invasion, and all that. It's just so alien today.
Er... well.... good question.

My husband helped me a little with research for the uniforms and he was certain that he'd seen either postcards or posters of soldiers returning home and carrying their kit with them, but I can't confirm the historical accuracy.

Perhaps Richard would know?
Sylvia, is the dollhouse this takes place in part of a bigger house, or was that special made for the scene?
The walls are only props, not part of an actual house. They are made of cardboard with printed paper coverings.
It was usually a case of having three walls of the room hinged together with tape plus one removable wall. This helped me get the camera in close at various angles.
I did a bit of a search for some uncropped photos, but I must have deleted most of the pics that weren't used in the story.
I did find a couple of shots of the exterior set up. The overhead view shows the veggie garden which was 'planted' in real dirt. This was to show how nothing was wasted - growing your own food was more important than having a pretty flower bed.
The boxes on top of the walls were to help weight the whole thing down as it had a tendency to lift off the ground at one end.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
(haven't I written this last year already? And the year before ...
)
I think the GW story rerun is becoming a tradition - just like the TV movies which get repeated every Christmas.

Luckily, there's usually one or two viewers who haven't seen it before.

will there ever be a sequel to the Snowy story ?
Highly unlikely at this point in time, I'm sorry to say.
