As promised, here are some pics of the gift I received at the weekend.
Captain Henry sent me a custom of Grace O'Malley and one of her Irish pirate rogues. His children, Sirena and Merboy, were also involved in the creation process by helping to choose some of the parts. The customising talent definitely runs in the family!
Enclosed with the figures was this explanation:
Gráinne Ní Mháille (c. 1530 – c. 1603), also known as Granuaile or Gráinne Mhaol, known in English as Grace O'Malley, is an important figure in Irish legend but was in fact a larger-than-life figure from 16th century Irish history. O'Malley is sometimes known as "The Sea Queen Of Connaught."Thank you Henry, Sirena and Merboy for my wonderful gift!
