playmobil deco tracks !
« on: November 18, 2007, 12:45:25 »
Hello Playmofriends,

i get some deco tracks from Playmobil and want share this with the Playmofriends !

ENJOY !

I must say the Deco Tracks have no SystemX Buttons !!
The System are not compatible with Playmo Rc !
I think there is not compatible with LGB , i test it later !
Only you remove the connectors. Same high !

The important thing was there are NO Playmobil Logo under the Tracks !

world greets

Andi

and i must say there are two different Deco Track Systems.
The first one looks not realy profesional and Playmobil remove it.
The second was the actual deco Tracks you can find at the stores and the funpark !

Thanks, Andi ...

Your report brings up lots of questions:

If Playmobil is only going to use these tracks for display ...
(And, as Dirk reported ... they have a sign that says, "This electric system is just for decoration")

1. Why would Playmobil manufacture electric tracks that look like their non-electric plastic tracks?

2. Why would Playmobil NOT use LGB track as they did in the past (see attachments)?

3. Is Playmobil thinking about bringing back an "Electric Train?"

Or, is Playmobil developing an Electric RC combination train?

And, of course, the BIG question, Andi ... How were you able to get these tracks?
(Are these "new" tracks available for Toy Stores to set up displays? If so, then that means that "Electric Trains" must also be available for Toy Store Displays!)

Verrrry interesting! Thanks for your report and photos!

All the best,
Richard

I would guess that it is for displaying trains in stores with out the need of a battery . It would give the image of the RC train with the plastic track so the kids who buy a train will not freak out when they open the box.
If you hear the sound of the bell which will tell you that Grigori has been killed, if it was your relations who have wrought my death, then no one in the family will remain alive. They will be killed by the Russian people. :prays:

Hello Richard,

excuse for the wrong words. The word deco = display !!

ok lets answer:

1. this Tracks are only for Displays !!! you cant buy it official !

2. LGB hmmm that was a very good question i dont know !!

3. no "Electric Train" or combination in the future !

The Problem was if Playmobil use Displays with Trains the Accus cant used a long time they think about a electric RC Train so the first Version was born but this was not a realy profesional System.

This time playmobil use the new electric tracks only for displays or shops in the windows.
Some shops sell it at ebay !!  0) I had luck to find a cheap version from it.

But look here for a ebay auction.....

220 Euros!

Hmmm ...  :hmm:

I don't understand it, Andi! If someone really wants a Playmobil Electric Train (with tracks) they can either find an original one on eBay, or they can buy an LGB Electric Train (with tracks) for about the same money. I guess I'm not really a "collector" in the true sense of the word ... ;)

BTW ... No problem with "Deko" ... "Decoration" and "Display" are very similar words in English, so it should be easy for almost anyone to understand.

Thanks for the photos of the "Deko Train!"

All the best,
Richard

the joke about this story was there only 6 curved and 6 straight tracks in this display Set !!  ;D
You cant make a complete circle !!

It was a pendular automatic. (Automatic Reversing Unit)
Looks like a LGB Version but again a own Playmobil version hmmm

I think they want to buy a reversing automatic Train , but you can buy this cheaper, too !!

ENJOY !

The motor block on the engine is very interesting, see picture below.

Note that it's an RC engine block with two sets of pickups and wires running from the back pickup to the green control board on the front.  Looks like it has a battery pack mounted as well, but the pack could be empty, just filling the space.

It just may be an RC engine modified to get power from the tracks rather than a battery.  And the reversing unit just changes to polarity of the wires.

Sounds like a great idea!

I think they want to use a Playmobil electric track, because LGB tracks look very different as those from Playmobil (in plastic or the "new" tracks). I think these tracks, are just made in the decoration department of Playmobil. RC trains can not operate the whole day in department store
