« on: November 02, 2007, 09:11:53 »
I just discovered this fairly new site featuring some StopMotion films. :D

Really nice to see a younger person being so creative with their Playmobil! 8-)

It's good, and ethical (see the Underworld).

... nice ...

???

... good ...

???

... unreal ... :)

???

Are these the THREE reviews from my THREE Playmofriends ... ???

Surely the three of you have MORE to say ... Other than just "nice," "good" and "unreal' ... ;)

All joking aside ... :lol:
I was absolutely mesmerized by this young lady's three films! ...  8}

They are BRILLIANT !!!

For those of you who have not yet had an opportunity to watch these three Playmobil inspired films ... please take the time and click HERE !!!

NOTE: They do take a bit of time to download ... so, if you only have time for one ... "Santa's Revenge" is my favourite!

All the best (and, thanks for finding this site, Sylvia),
Richard

I admit my first post did not convey my impressions accurately, but I was a bit rushed that morning. :-[

I was going to say that I was amazed at the standard of Freya's films, especially considering her age. From reading the home page, it's clear that she did have help from her Dad in getting started with film-making, but I also get the impression that she did a lot of the work by herself.

I looked for an e-mail contact on the home page when I first found the site, because I wanted to let her know how much I enjoyed watching her films, but I couldn't find one. However, I just noticed there is one on the Purchase DVDs page. :)

Ooops !!! ...  :-[

Sorry, Sylvia ...  ::)

Perhaps I was a bit too theatrical and over the top with my comments  ...  Just wanted everyone to enjoy what you had found ...  :love:

All the best (and, apologies to Gordon and Cachalote),
Richard

I like these short films that Freya and her Dad have made.

If I had to choose one then it would have to be the Pet catastrophe film because there is a lot going on in the back ground. If you look at the scenes inside the pet shop you can still see people walking past the window, a street cleaner and a baggage cart with a child doing a hand stand. Those things don't have to be there but they have have taken the time to put them in.

There are some special effects in the Noah story I liked and my favorite is the use of cotton wool at the front of the ship to show movement, a great touch.

I thought Santa sounded a bit like one of the characters from The Viking Five at the start of the movie.

I really would like to see the Underworld music video film, hope it is available soon.

The movies are great!

And, I freaked out when I realized she has the same name as my daughter (Freya).

* Freya is a Swedish name, after the Norse goddess of magic, but by coincidence is also a Persian name for "dear".
** I live in the American midwest Bible belt and have a tough time explaining, when asked by coworkers, that I named my child after a pagan goddess of sorcery.

But, not meaning to change the subject, thanks to smart kids like her, adults like us look less crazy for being so fascinated by playmobil.
